RUBBY'S POV "You must think you still have the right to speak to me like that huh?" Nolan held me from moving."Just so you would know, he is still the CEO of the firm you work for. If you push me to the wall, I might get you sacked before a new person assumes that role. Get your stinking hands away from me!" I yanked my hand off and headed outside, straight to Alex's car. A knowing smile crept to his lips, and he waved."You through already?""You knew about this since?" I asked without giving room for any question and answer session. He looked confused, if not surprised at my sudden outburst."What's going on Rubby? Are you through with what you went to do? That was quite fast.""Don't pretend as if you don't know what I'm talking about!" I screamed."Rubby?" His brow furrowed in confusion. "Come inside," he said, pushing the left door open.I reluctantly climbed him. His gaze landed on my wrist, the mark of Nolan's rough hand was still there."What happened?" He sounded monstrou

TRISHA'S POV I stood from a distance watching everything unfold. He was the same man from Rubby's house the day I wanted to disfigure her face with acid; he was the heir, after all; how lucky could Rubby be?Nolan had known me for months before he met her, yet he liked her even before her family helped him, it was like killing three birds with one stone, while he lied to me he was just staying with her for her parents' sake, he made her parents feel he was the right choice for her to enable them to buy him more positions, while presenting himself as the best boyfriend to her. The truth was that he really liked her. While we were still in college, she always got compliments from guys; even now, both the real heir and the fake heir are in love with her.I heaved a deep sigh of relief as a thought crept into my mind. Meet with Josh, seduce him, and win him over. Now was the only time I had, now that Rubby hated him.I ran my eyes through my closet selecting a white strapless short dress

JOSH'S POV "You came prepared," she whispered."Yes I sure did, and you might end up not dead before the end of today.""Then let's strike a reasonable deal. I know everything and everywhere in his penthouse; I can cry my way back into his house; I still have got a card to his door, I still know the gate lock, I still have Alex wrapped around my fingers, so reconsider," she pleaded.Though she sounded confident, her shaky voice betrayed her. I had never seen someone so selfish and greedy to the point of death."You have Alex wrapped in your arms huh?" I scoffed "Indeed, yet he had you thrown out of the office like a nobody the other day.""I can still hook him, he hasn't gotten over me. At least not yet.""Young lady delete that picture right away, the recording too, the cheque is all I have to offer, nothing more."She hesitated for a moment, acting as though she was finding it hard to open her phone, then broke into a run. Now, here was what happened; remember, we were on the rooft

TRISHA'S POV "Idiot!" I shouted after his car. To think I had even gotten him, only to be pushed away in the most humiliating way.He was clearly disgusted merely by my presence, not to talk of what I had to say. To crown my pain, it was Rubby again."And to think you had the guts to come to me after you tried pouring acid on the woman I love," I mimicked, sticking out my tongue and making funny faces."Rubby, Rubby!" I shouted. The gym instructor had come out now and had probably watched the drama unfold. He stood with the balm, shaking his head in pity."Have you got nothing else to do old man?" I hissed and walked away.I waved a taxi and headed home. That was the least I could do, it was of no use chasing or stalking that idiot. The moment I got home, a sharp bitter laugh escaped my lips. He insulted me with Nolan, Rubby must have told him a lot about me.I had convinced myself that Rubby was nothing more than an obstacle. Every single thing I had worked for, she takes it away f

TRISHA'S POV Betrayal, they say, is a slow poison. It doesn't kill you immediately; rather, it seeps into your veins, your bone marrows, and eats you deep from the inside. That was exactly what I was facing as I kept staring at Nolan with my eyes wide opened. Not even in my wildest dream did I expect such a level of betrayal from him.Who knew that the same man who called me a multi-function sex toy would still be my undoing?I stood frozen, staring at both of them, my eyes darting from Josh to Nolan, to the policemen and forth. My heart hurt. Not the emotional kind, but physically. It felt as though there was a hole that sucked in my blood before it got to my heart; at some point, I felt it pound faster.Suddenly the air in my lungs became hot. I breathed in hot air, that hurt my heart the most.Nolan's arms were crossed, with a satisfied smirk tugging at the corner of the lips. The same man I had loved. The same man, who I thought had loved me. The same man I fought so hard for,
