“Mommy is coming home this weekend?” I sobbed. Daddy’s posture eased. He crossed his arms, a small smile touching his lips. “Oh, that’s why you’re crying?” Uncle Yusuf asked. I nodded, wiping my nose with the back of my hand. He pulled me back into a bear hug. “I feel you, kiddo. I want to cry, too. I’m so happy I’ll get to see my baby sister…” He made a show of it, puffing out his lips and pretending to bawl, emitting loud, fake, hiccupping sobs. His face was so funny that a laugh bubbled out of me.
