DanikaMy brain halted as I tried to process his words, over and over in my head.Did I hear him right? Or am I just too nervous my brain is now starting to play tricks on me."Your first love?" Theodore repeated, looking skeptical and alost as if he wanted to scoff."Yes," Hunter all but confirmed, and I raise my gaze to meet his eyes.He was serious. "He is telling the truth," one of the elders confirmed, and we all look up to see Elder Nora had stood from her seat. Her eyes glowing with pure magic."For everyone's information and to avoid any biases, we have decided to not only test the candidates here but also our guests. If caught lying, it will be known and you are out of the challenge, not including the candidate, of course." Theodore explained. This made me look at Silas, who I now see clenching his jaws like a hunter who missed his bloody shot. I soon realize although he couldn't alter the challenge entirely, he added some tweaks and tried to catch Hunter by the tail. He me

Danika"Release him." Was the first thing on my mind, and I managed to say it without sounding timid or weak. I was surprised, more to myself as well as the strength my voice carried so naturally, but of course, I didn't let it show."But Luna... He's a -""I said," I dart my eyes to the guard who spoke, and his face paled. "Release him at once!" I repeat and my voice had only gotten louder, which makes the guard swallow the lump in his throat before he squeezes past the border guards and crouches beside the child. His little body trembled although it looked nothing more than skin and bones. I frowned. I didn't know why, but I could feel an inexplicable sense of protectiveness over this little boy."Luna? What are you going to do?" Robert whispers. I don't spare a glance at him, and look instead at the border guards muttering hushed words under their breath. From the look of disdain on their faces, I could see they did not approve of my decision to unleash the boy from his restraints.

DanikaThree hours later, and two tries after the first one magically blew up in the oven, Hunter finally pulled out his and set it on the table. After examining his creation, I find myself pouting. His look rather picturesque, almost making my mouth water as the scent wafted to my nose.I look at mine that had slightly shrunk at the bottom after over an hour of it sitting on the table."It's not fair," I mutter, all while staring at his pie before licking my lips. I swallow. He chuckles, removing his mittens and setting them aside."That's what they always say," he says and winks at me.I roll my eyes and gave him a spoon, as we switched pies. I was going to ask him about who should be judging our pies, but he insisted we can just switch. Besides, it's past eight in the evening and everyone is all nestled cozy at home while the rest of them are on patrol. "By the way, did Robert tell you anything?" I suddenly ask, remember I had igven him instructions on changing the shifts. His ey

SilasI drum my finger on the table repeatedly, watching the elders mutter to themselves while going over every candidate that made it to this challenge. To be honest, I haven't been really paying attention to the others. My eyes being only for Danika and damn, that dress she wore really highlighted her best features. Her pale, delicate skin, platinum hair and two colored eyes, she was stunning. So imagine the look on my face when I saw the way that dipsh!t Hunter looked at her. I don't give a f*ck if it's his wolf who I was sure whimpered at the sigh of her or Hunter himself. He had his chance.Yet as I watched Danika perform in the tests, and couldn't help but notice her with him. The way she responded even if Qinai told me she was just going with the flow. That whole picture with them in that tiny kitchen like a real, lovey-dovey couple made me want to stop the whole trial right then and there, and claim her in front of everyone to see. Qinai kept me in control, and I felt it iron

DanikaThe tension was palpable. Both men stood chest to chest and an inch away from tearing each other apart.Silas' eyes flared dangerously in anger and he clenched his fists. His jaw clenched hard. However, his eyes flicked to the elders appearing from behind the doors. They all stood there, watching the exchange with gazes focused on their King.A low growl rumbled through him before he slowly stepped back. Then his eyes shifted to me.'It's okay,' I mindlinked him, before white crystal specks danced in his eyes.'Look. I'll figure this out. I'll come back for you,' he mindlinks me.I just give him a soft smile and tugged on Hunter's hand, making him whip to me. He looks stunned, but I paid it no mind and walked to his car, not giving Silas a second look back. I knew if I did, I would forever cling on to false hope. I had to remind myself that his promise meant nothing. That he is not really coming back and I'll be stuck in Hunter's pack forever.Walking towards the car, I halt in
