He raises his head and smiles at me with completely dark purple eyes. “And believe me, I do love receiving a heartfelt appreciation”. No. Whatever this is, it has to stop right now— I can’t let him think I would be okay with whatever this is. He said sharing my heat did not affect him, but that must be a lie. Because why else would he be licking at my neck like a cat sampling catnip for the first time?. “I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable sir”. Miyamura immediately steps back from me. He always says that he wouldn’t do anything to make me uncomfortable, and now he’s standing by that. What do you know? Alphas can actually stand by their words. “My apologies, Sorahiko”. That dark look in his eyes does not fade. “I got carried away”. His tongue swipes across his lower lip. He looks hungry. Like a starved beast. The air between us is charged with something heavy that I can’t explain— Miyamura’s gaze does not stray from me. It’s bothersome. This situation. This tensio

I step into the office behind Miyamura, still contemplating the mystery that is Yukimura Rei. What I know now is that she is a high-class omega with a sibling who belongs to Miyamura’s inner circle—there is no way he isn’t one of Miyamura’s closest friends. Or else, how would she have the ability to play around with Aronohai Miyamura?. “Stop thinking about her”. He walks over to the sofa and settles down on it. “And shut that door behind you”. I do as he says. Everything feels a bit awkward— I’m standing here, doing nothing while Miyamura is resting on the sofa and staring at the wall. So awkward. “You’re still thinking about her, aren’t you?”. He doesn’t turn to look at me. “No sir”. The silence is telling. “…Not exactly, sir”. “What exactly do you want to know?”. He’s offering information? Really?. “You can ask”. “Who is she? Is she one of your acquaintances, sir?”. Who am I to turn down free information?. I almost drowned in my curiosity. “You’re quite

Miyamura is in a terrible mood. It’s in the tightness of his jaw, and the tenseness of his body. It’s not something he can hide. It’s not anger or rage. It’s more like a rising irritation and annoyance— one that he can’t seem to control. It pours from his scent in waves. His pheromones hang heavy and seem to seep into everything on our floor— into the seats in the waiting room, into the veneers on my desk, and even into my chest. It’s stifling. It’s like waiting for a volcano to erupt. All I can do at the moment is try to plan around the eruption, so I don’t get caught in it. Thankfully, he doesn’t call me to his office to help him handle any more ‘private’ work. So the moment the clock strikes twelve for lunch break— I bail. There is a pastry shop that I’ve been dying to go to. It’s not too far from the office, I can just walk there. I’ve been eyeing their sugar doughnuts since I first saw their sign. And today, I am going to go try it!. Not even Miyamura’s

“It’s been a while, Mira”. “Yes, it has…Aito”. Miyamura nods at the alpha sitting across him. For this meeting, he decided to rent an entire bar. He wanted no prying eyes, no noise, and no disturbances. And with his money— he got exactly that. Yukimura Aito glances around the empty establishment in mild confusion. “Is there a reason why you called me back to Japan?”. His gaze settles back on Miyamura. “Not that I’m not happy to see you again, but I know that the feeling might not be mutual”. Miyamura scoffs, then pours himself a glass of scotch and downs it. “You’re saying it like I have something against you, Aito”. He pours another glass and passed it to the other alpha. Aito ducks his head, avoiding Miyamjra’s gaze as he accepts the glass of scotch. “You don’t have to be vague Mira, I would understand if you did have something against me”. He smiles sadly. Miyamura pours himself another glass but doesn’t drink it. “Well, I don’t”. He sends him a wry smile. “You’re no

The meeting room descends into a cacophony of noise. Riko is pointedly sitting away from Aito. Misa keeps trying to bury her fist in Aito’s skull, and Yamato is left trying to keep the peace. And Miyamura? What is Miyamura doing? That bastard has been trying to peel off my scent patch since we got here. “You promised me, Sorahiko”. He pouts, completely ignoring all his visitors. “Take it off”. “I told you that it is illegal to take it off in public, sir”. I hiss back at him. “And right now, we are in public”. “It’s just the meeting room, and besides I own this building”. He argues back, reaching for my neck again. “It’s basically private property”. I lean away from his hands. “You have visitors sir, I’m sorry but I cannot do that”. “Just think of them like inanimate objects then”. “Taking off my scent patch is not something that I can do in the presence of everyone, sir”. I turn my face away to avoid his gaze. “I’m sorry sir”. He sighs. “Don’t apologize”.
