The Lycan's Gold Digger Wife のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 21 - チャプター 30

Lacy's POV "You don't need to thank me. I did that for myself. Now let's go, I'm hungry."I walk in front of him to the banquet, and he follows without saying a word. We finally arrive at the hall, and the smell of food draws me to the ordering tables. I pile my plate with lots of food and walk back to Vincent, who is talking to Beck. I hear my name from their mouths as I approach them, but I don't bother to ask what they're talking about.Beck looks at me and laughs at how much food I loaded onto my plate, but he shakes his head instead of saying anything. He leads me to our designated table, and we take our seats. I look around and can't find Celeste anywhere, which is odd because she is constantly glued to Vincent, so why was she nowhere to be found now?I voice my curiosity to Brent, ignoring Vincent as he types on his phone, and he replies to me."She went to speak to some of the people whom she knows here. She made acquaintances at the last meeting because, you know, she thoug

Lacy's POV"Call in the stand-by guards; he couldn't have gone far", the doctor shouts at the maids. Other maids come in to help their unconscious colleagues.Nurses and doctors rush through the hallways, asking other patients if they have seen Vincent pass by. The guards that the nurses call for are running through the halls, too; Everyone is looking for him.I press my palm against the bandage on my hand, feeling the slight sting from where they took my blood for him. It was supposed to help. Why do things keep going south? But now he's gone, and no one knows if he's in control, or if the poison is driving him mad."He couldn't have gone far," Brent says, pacing near the nurses' station, running through his hair for the 100th time in frustration. "The entire building is secured, and we have guards outside. Someone would have seen him."Celeste stands nearby, arms crossed tightly over her chest. "Unless he climbed the damn walls," she mutters. "You should have known something lik

Lacy's POV "What the fuck are you doing here?" Celeste asks, looking me over with her usual disgust. "Um, I... I was just passing by. Don't mind me." I say and hurriedly walk away. I think that she is going to stop me, but she doesn't, and she lets me go.I walk briskly back to my own room and slam the door. I jump on the bed, but I feel a lump, which makes me scream and fall backwards to the floor with a thud. "That was really ungraceful of you." A small chuckle comes from the bed. What the– "Shouldn't you be on bed rest? As in your own bed? What are you doing here?" I turn on my bedside lamp to reveal Vincent in all his glory, sprawled on my bed. He doesn't look like he plans to answer me or even move, so I walk away.I'm done with my nightly baths and walk back into the room, and unfortunately, Vincent is still there. I roll my eyes at him when we make eye contact and continue my nightly routine."You use too many products."I scoff. "How do you think I get this glowy skin th

Lacy's POVShe stops in front of a door and nods at me for me to enter. I stop in front of the door and gently knock."Come in." I hear Vincent's mother call out to me from the other side of the room.I pull the large door open and walk in. Her room is simple and just right for her age. The walls are painted blue, and she has the essentials for a room. The only difference is that it is enormous and she has a large piano. She is sitting on the chair in front of the piano, gazing her hand over the keys. She doesn't say anything, although I know that she knows that I am in the room."Take a seat," she says, but I am confused about where to sit, so I stand."I am fine standing, mam." She doesn't say anything and continues to look at the piano."Ever since you came into my son's life, he has been in some trouble or another. You're like some bad luck for him." Excuse me. What is this woman rambling on about? I have done nothing but rot in my room. I only leave when they request my prese

PRICKING AND PRODING Lacy's POV For the first time since I came here, breakfast goes smoothly for me.I finish up and thank Maria before leaving the table."Lacy." I turn to see Brent walking behind me. What does he want? "I forgot to tell you during breakfast, but news got to the Golden Association that your blood saved Vincent. So they're going to come over to examine you and probably prick and prod you too."What the–"Don't they need my permission in all of this?" "Vincent already gave them your permission." He doesn't have the right to do that. Well, I'm just some property to him, and I have no right to refuse, I'm sure. I sigh and nod to Brent before I continue my walk to my room."Don't fall asleep or go anywhere. They'll be here soon." I hear Brent shout from behind me."Fine," I yell back and go to my room.I am called down from my room minutes later to meet some very weird-looking men in white-collar lab coats and suitcases in their hands. They both wear funny-looking
