The maid returned to the prison room where Lan was kept, to retrieve the plates used in serving him. She screamed at the top of her lungs and was met with utmost shock when she saw the overseer lying limp on the floor in a pool of his own blood.Darius and two guards emerged upon hearing her shout. Their eyes widened, unable to believe what they saw.“How..how did this happen?” Darius asked rhetorically as he examined Lan's body, confirming that he was dead.“We just left less than an hour ago.” He peered deeper at Lan. “Did he…” Darius paused, unsure if his insinuations were right. “Did he kill himself?”The woman shrugged, still feeling a bit mortified. “That could be possible. He probably felt that he couldn't face the King.”Darius sighed, then turned to the guard. “ Joe, take his body out of here.”Joe nodded briskly. He did as Darius ordered. Darius bit his inner lip as he tried to process all the unusual things that had happened in a space of a day.The omega was dead, killed b

The sun had begun to set when Silas and his men arrived at the main city of Hericon. The sky was painted in shades of orange and deep crimson, casting long shadows across the palace walls. The guards at the entrance bowed immediately upon sighting the King, but Silas didn’t spare them a glance. He hurried to the room where the omega was laid. His steps were quick, almost impatient, his boots echoing against the stone floors as he moved through the corridors. Servants and workers instinctively stepped aside. He placed a hand on his forehead, as he was immersed in his thoughts. His brows furrowed slightly, a rare sign of unrest. He wasn’t sure what exactly pulled him toward the omega, but the feeling lingered stubbornly. He watched as Darius fumbled with the keys to unlock the door.“Why are you so concerned about an omega runt?” Theo asked upon seeing Silas' countenance. His tone was casual, but his eyes were observant, watching the King closely.Silas sighed, not saying anything in re

Silas caressed Logan's chin. Logan felt too exhausted from the decision he had made to even bother pushing Silas' hands off.Silas crouched to Logan's level on the bed so that their eyes could meet. “That is exactly what I wanted to hear, handsome omega.”He touched Logan's face again. “Now, tell me, what exactly would you do?”“I'd do everything.”Silas smiled, then ruffled Logan's hair. He tilted his chin to face him again. “You would be my property from now on, and I would be your master.”Logan swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bopped as he did so, causing Silas' eyes to drift there. That was a trait that he loved.“You would be mine to explore, mine to caress and mine to punish.”Logan stilled, unable to wait for him to take his hand off. As if Silas read his mind, he took his hand off Logan's chin, but settled it around Logan's neck, stroking his Adam apple.“That is enough.” Logan blurted as he shoved Silas' hand away. He couldn't endure what he hated any longer. Silas grinned.

He was led through the path and when they got to a door, Eric paused. He turned to the omegas accompanying him. “Wait here.”The door opened briefly and Eric stepped inside alone. Logan remained where he was, his eyes following the door until it shut again. The two men beside him said nothing. A few minutes passed before the door opened once more and Eric stepped out, his expression unreadable.“They are not ready for you yet,” he said. “You will wait.”Logan frowned. “Wait for what exactly?”Eric ignored the question and motioned for him to follow. They walked a short distance down the corridor before stopping at another door. Eric unlocked it and pushed it open.“Go in.”Logan hesitated for a second before stepping inside. The room was small and empty, with nothing but a chair placed against the wall. Before he could turn back, the door shut behind him. He immediately tried the handle, but it did not budge.“Of course,” he muttered under his breath, stepping away from the door. He p

The presentation did not end abruptly, but to Logan, it felt like it dragged on for far longer than it should have. After the interruption, the room never fully returned to how it had been before. It seemed like there was some sort of tension. The other omegas were still examined, still turned, still judged under watchful eyes that never softened. Logan was returned to the line. This time, no one touched him. But that did not make it better. If anything, the absence of touch made the scrutiny worse. The looks lingered longer. Some of the masters leaned forward just to study him more closely, their eyes narrowing as if trying to understand what made him different from the others. Logan kept his eyes forward, jaw tight, refusing to react. His chest still rose unevenly, though he tried to steady it. He could still feel it, that strange pressure that had wrapped around him earlier, something invisible yet heavy, something that had made his body feel like it no longer belonged to him.
