CHAPTER 242~JASONIt was the continuation of the return of the blood ritual and I had only let Nyra slip off from my sight when I got a message at around noon stating that my presence was needed at the council meeting. I hated the fact they were trying to severe us for the evening. I never wanted to leave her sight, and we spent the whole of the day cuddling and enjoying the feeling of being in the arms of another. It was strange, I was in the den of my enemies but I felt an unusual peace, no chaos, just deep longing and yearning for every bit of Nyra despite her being in my presence. I didn't want to leave her for a moment, deep down I felt as though letting her go would be me letting go of a fish I'd just caught with my hook. I felt she was sloppy, apart from being secretive and quite distant even though she was in my presence, I felt there was more to it. She was hiding away something bigger than just being the wife of my step brother. Sh

CHAPTER 244~JASONI stormed out from the council hall right before anyone else, the proceedings of the meeting had gone in a totally different dimension than I had imagined it to go. The moment I had walked up to Lord Ralph, he began reading out his scroll, one with a whole lot of disturbing words. “Let it be recorded!” Lord Ralph had begun, silencing the room at that instant and making everyone pay keen interest to him.   “That the banished son, Jason Knox has been permitted entry into the Bloodfangs park, for the sole purpose of his mother, Catherine Knox burial!” I didn't know why, but hearing my mum being called that name did a whole lot inside of me. Why was she being addressed with the name of the same man that had murdered her. I clenched my fist, tightened my jaw as I listened to his degrading words.   “A concession

CHAPTER 246~NYRADarian went on and on about how the situation clearly wasn't his fault, about how he would have done otherwise if there was some kind of option, but as he spoke, my mind was far gone. I needed to validate myself and none of the excuses which Darian was giving could help, even a tiny bit. He actually thought my biggest problem was the fact he ruined his relationship with his brother. I cared little about that, or probably didn't care at all. I felt like screaming into his ears, telling him to shut the fuck up because he might have just ruined my chances with my mate and in no time, I could die from the fucking mate rejection. Maybe he would be happy when he sees me wincing in pain because he decided to severe my relationship with Jace, fucking asshole.  “Fucking asshole!” I blotted out unintentionally, rolling my eyes from Darian. “No, no, don't do that!” Darian began,

CHAPTER 248~AVELINEFor the past few days, I genuinely can say I haven't been myself. My plans to leave the Den, and leave in totality with Emily weren't working. I'd finally made the conclusion, I wasn't staying any longer, I believed there was something better out there for me, for us. At first I didn't let Celine know, I wasn't dragging in a wife of the Alpha that had also birthed him, it wasn't gonna be an easy chase, no way the Alpha was letting her off, letting both of us off. I alone was fine, he could get over that, it was only gonna be a mild bruise on his shoulder, but two? No way. I know I had said I wasn't leaving, not when Nyra was present, but I got to realize really early that I was only wasting my time. I drew a conclusive line to my decision just a few hours ago, I decided to go over to Nyra's chamber. It had been a while and apart from that, a whole lot of fishy things were going down the drain. It only was suspicious of me, but at the end it became a realization.I

~AVELINEAnd then I found something out, probably not all of it, but enough to get Nyra a bit walked off. I had tailed after her the next evening, I was quite hesitant about barging into her chamber, and that was my luck. She walked out of her chamber just a short moment after, and then strolled off through the bushy path. She didn't take the normal route, and I found it suspicious. I waited until she had gone far away before following behind her. The more she walked on, the clearer it became, she was heading over Jason's chamber. I recognized the route because I'd strolled down there once before with Celine and she gave me the story of the exiled son. It was vivid and I remembered asking why his chamber was built so far away from everyone else. Celine had shrugged her shoulders ignorantly. She was as less informed as I was and only just spoke what she was told. I always thought back to that place and something stroll over all by myself, sometimes finding Catherine seated out or proba
