Maddy’s POVONE YEAR LATER.“You must be Maddy Green. I’m Paula,” a bright-haired girl said, thrusting her hand in my direction.I shook her hand. “Hi, Paula, it’s nice to meet you!” I tried to keep my voice as casual as possible. I was hiding my nerves. The dorm room was small. She had already claimed the window corner leaving the smaller corner close to the toilet door to me.Her corner was decorated with pictures of her favorite popstars, I assumed. It was clean. Freakishly clean. The stacks of textbooks on her table told me she was a serious student.“How long have you been on campus?” I asked her while unpacking.“Since opening day. Sorry, I know, my parents are real strict like that,” she said, hopping into bed.“No, that’s good. My mother used to be like that!”“Used to? What happened?”“She died a long time ago!” I said and turned around to face my bags. I had so much to do. A shit ton actually. It’d been a year since I left Pine Creek. A year since I left him. Aston, the lov

Maddy’s POVHe stood there, a few feet away, towering above me. He had changed in many ways but in many ways, he was still the same. The same asshole I fell in love with.“Maddy,” he whispered. My name came out of his mouth like candy. I nearly melted. My feet almost buckled.“Aston,” I returned. My voice cracking a little. I didn’t want to show him that I was still affected by him.But who was I kidding? I was very much affected by him. I was affected by his proximity to me now. He was standing so close, it took everything in me not throw my hands around his neck and kiss him. Or bury my nose in the nape of his neck, filling my lungs with his smell. How I’ve missed him! How I’ve missed him!Our moment was interrupted by the arrival of my new roommate, Paula.“Oh my God, black python! It’s the black python!” she went off like a fan girl.Aston smiled politely at her. “Who’s this?” he asked.Paula thrust out a hand. “Hi, I’m Paula. I’m Maddy’s new roommate.”She sounded so eager. I jus

Maddy's POV Two days later, my phone pinged with a message from an unknown number. "I'm outside," the message said. I thought it was Aston. I was instantly mad that he thought he could summon me. But I ran out anyway just to tell him off. But when I got out there, I saw Viper instead. He was leaning against his bike. "Okay, How'd you even get this number? How'd you find my dorm? Are you stalking me?" I asked. Viper merely grinned. "We are supposed to be working on this assignment. Of course, I found out everything I can about you since you don't seem to care!" It had been two days since he tried to ask me out. Well, one can't exactly call that asking out. His arrogance matched Aston's or perhaps a little more. "You do not summon me, Michael!" I said, using his real name. He was taken aback a little. He crossed his legs, peering me up and down. "Well, Madison..." he retorted I recognised this for a tug of war it was. He was yanking my chain, trying to domina

Aston’s POVThe Ryders clubhouse in school was at the basement of Viper’s fraternity. When I entered the room, he was smoking, puffing perfect rings into the air.I stared at him with surprising coldness. “You need to leave Maddy alone. This isn’t about her!” I said.He blew rings of smoke in my direction. “Didn’t you ask out her roommate?”The clubhouse was empty. Just the two of us. On the walls were pictures and awards that testified to Viper’s success as a rider. Every single thing he had ever won was displayed in the room for everyone to see.He was proud of it. I threatened him. “I know you are using Maddy to get to me and I just want you to stop it!” I pressed.I’d just left Maddy’s house. My groin was still throbbing from her teasing. She knew how to pull me to the edge and snatch my excitement away. I was merely here to channel my frustration on Viper.“Hmm, as I recall, Maddy’s a big girl. I’m sure she can take care of herself. She’s capable of making her own choices or are

CHAPTER 151 – The Duel Aston’s POV “Do you seriously enjoy being second to him?” Cody asked. He had to lean closer to whisper it to me. The crowd was too loud tonight. And they were not my biggest fans! Viper was celebrating another win tonight with his supporters. He popped champagne, his hands in the air spilling the champagne on everywhere near him. My fists curled with anger. “Honestly, it’s not that he’s a great racer, it’s just that you let him get inside your head,” Cody continued. “Leave him alone!” Giselle snapped at him. Cody rolled his eyes at her. I had no idea what the fuck is wrong with them but for whatever reason, they were now at each other’s throats. Meanwhile, Maddy was on Viper’s arm. Kissing him, celebrating with him. “Are those two dating now?” Cody wanted to know. This was a shock to me too. Why him? Of all the people in this school? “What does it matter? I think she’s free to be with whomever she wants,” Giselle retorted. I stomped my feet
