บททั้งหมดของ The Contract Omega( MXM Romance): บทที่ 81 - บทที่ 90

Caelen POVThe four weeks since hitting the third trimester had settled into a comfortable rhythm that almost made me forget we were supposed to be living under threat. My blood pressure had stabilized with medication, not perfect, but manageable. The twice-weekly doctor appointments had become routine rather than anxiety-inducing. And our son, whom we had finally named Adrian after weeks of debate, was growing exactly as he should."Four pounds, three ounces," Dr. Rose had announced at yesterday's ultrasound, pointing to measurements on the screen. "Right on target for thirty-two weeks. His lungs are developing beautifully, and all organs are functioning well. If he were born today, he'd likely need minimal NICU time."The reassurance had lifted a weight I had not realized I was still carrying. Every week that passed meant Adrian was stronger, more ready for the world outside. Five more weeks until the planned cesarean at thirty-seven weeks. Just five more weeks of modified bed rest

Caelen POVThe van drove for what felt like hours but was probably only twenty minutes, each turn and bump sending fresh waves of panic through my system. Dion sat across from me in the cargo area, watching with that unsettling calm while I tried to process what was happening."You're making a mistake," I said, forcing my voice to stay steady despite the terror clawing at my throat. "Aldric will find us. Security will…""Security is occupied with a false alarm I arranged very carefully. And by the time anyone realizes you're missing, we'll be long gone." He leaned forward slightly. "I'm not an idiot, Caelen. I've been planning this for weeks. Every detail and every contingency."The larger man driving made a sharp turn, and I had to brace myself awkwardly with my bound hands to avoid falling. Adrian kicked hard against my ribs, his movements frantic and distressed. I could feel my heart racing, my blood pressure spiking in ways that Dr. Chen had warned me to avoid."I need my medicati

Aldric POVThe board meeting dragged on until nine o'clock, two hours longer than scheduled. Peter from acquisitions had insisted on reviewing every detail of the quarterly projections, asking questions that could have been answered via email. I had checked my phone three times, seeing no messages from Caelen, assuming he was resting or already asleep. It feels normal. Everything felt normal.I should have known better. I should have trusted the unease that had been building at the base of my skull for the past hour, the bond transmitting something I was too distracted to properly interpret. The drive home took twenty minutes through light traffic. I tried calling Caelen twice; both calls went to voicemail. Still not alarming, he often silenced his phone during evening rest periods to avoid work interruptions. But when I pulled into the estate driveway and saw the front door standing open, security lights blazing into the darkness, normal shattered into nightmare.I was out of the car

Aldric POVThe warehouse loomed ahead in the darkness, a massive shadow against the night sky that felt like it was swallowing everything around it. My security team moved into position with practiced silence — Alpha team flanking the main entrance, Bravo circling to the service door, everyone checking weapons and communication equipment with grim efficiency.Police had arrived as backup, their vehicles positioned a block away with lights off to avoid alerting anyone inside. The lead detective was arguing protocol into her radio, something about waiting for SWAT and hostage negotiation teams."We don't have time for that," I said, already moving toward the building. Through the bond, another contraction rippled, stronger, closer together than the last one I had felt during the drive. Labor was progressing whether we were ready or not. "He's running out of time.""Mr. Fenmore, if we go in without proper backup…""Then we go in without proper backup." I looked at my security team leader

Caelen POVDr. Rashid was already at my side as the gurney pushed through the OR doors, her calm voice cutting through the noise as she kept pace beside me. Everything Aldric had said in the ambulance was still somewhere underneath the chaos, the promise, the certainty he had forced into his voice even when his eyes gave him away. I held onto it without being able to feel it properly yet.Everything was moving too fast. Fluorescent lights strobed overhead as they rushed me through the final corridors. Medical personnel appeared and disappeared, hands checking my pulse, adjusting my IV, and placing monitors on my stomach. The sounds were overwhelming, beeping machines, urgent voices, the squeak of wheels on linoleum, all of it blending into a sensory assault that made my already fractured composure crack further."Aldric." I reached out blindly, needing his presence more than air."I'm here." His hand found mine, gripping tight enough to hurt. "I'm right here. I'm not leaving you.""C
