LEAH’S POVBy the time we finally left the spa, facials, and all other things, it was already dark outside. We overspent because Sophie and Emily think they need to try an overpriced turmeric-flavoured ice cream.Knowing fully well that neither of them can tolerate anything about turmeric. The moment we stepped outside it felt like stepping into a new world of no worries. For the first time since I was ten, I don't have to worry about work. Although I need to start working soon, Emily insists that I head the new boutique in her mall. Elena works there too.The city lights glittered against the windows of the car while soft music played quietly from the driver’s speakers. Honestly, I felt boneless.Like if someone pushed me slightly, I would roll away.“That massage changed my life,” Sophie declared from beside me, clutching the neck pillow she somehow convinced the spa attendant to let her keep.Emily snorted softly from the other side. “You say that after every massage.”I almost cho

DAMIEN POV I have never been this nervous in my whole life. Not even when I wanted to ask Emily's mother to marry me. Or even when I carried Emily for the first time. Or when I bargain with someone with my whole empire on the line. Here I am, getting down from my private jet, walking to the car with a stern look. Like my stomach is not in a knot right now.I am so scared of how she will look at me, will she hear me out?. Will she listen? The least of my problems currently is Ethan. He doesn't own her.I do.Now I just have to think of ways to make it up to her. Then after Emily's party, I can simply tell Emily. At the thought of Emily again, my heart skipped several beats. What if she doesn't accept? I don't want to spoil their relationship at all. At the same time, I want Leah all to myself. Will she understand?Well, I guess I have to make her.The ride home was the most nerve-racking ride. I kept on bouncing my feet repeatedly like that would dispel the whole anxiety.Well, maybe

LEAH'S POVFor the first time tonight, he smiled at me. What is funny about what I just said?“What's so funny?” “Nothing…” he murmured, faking a hurtful gaze.“You are hurting my feelings by shouting at me”What!?He's a kid now. I kept mute. I wasn't ready to give him the satisfaction of coming back every time he hurt me. This would be his second time.He didn't officially say we are done but his whole demeanor proves it.“I am here because I know how crazy you can get with your promises… so tell me what you have to say now and let me leave”“Do you miss me?” He murmured.“Hell no” I snapped. “Listen Mr Cross… you have continually explained to me that I'm nothing but your side toy …” my voice gave out. I swallowed, trying to regain my voice.“You dared to come back here asking if I missed you…. Of course not…. You are not the only man in this world, and sure as hell you aren't the only man who wants me… in case you must have forgotten… I have several choices… people that will choo

LEAH'S POV “I swear if I should come over here one more time and you aren't done with the lip combo, I'm going to lose it” I don't understand why it has to be Sophie who is delaying.I have been done for hours, same as Emily. Thomas and Nina left already because they were obviously done with everyone's glam. But Sophie believes the tone of the lips doesn't match her vibe today. After five different attempts, she came to do the exact one she hated before and suddenly she believes it's beautiful.Emily has been moving around like a celebrity hiding their outfits at the Met Gala. I haven't seen the dress, and none of us have. But she promised us we would absolutely love it. I'm fucking ready to see. I walked to the living room. Emily was standing, beaming like a child who had a surprise from her friends. If that's the case, just that this involves grown-ass women.“Sophie!” I yelled again, “The dress reveal is happening!” I yelled, not loudly enough to disturb Mom who had just gotten ba

LEAH'S POV My heart betrayed me immediately, beating so fast that I'm sure he would notice. I am certain he notices because of the little tilt of his head while watching me squirm underneath his gaze.I looked away first. But it was too late.“Why?” I asked and my traitorous voice too couldn't care less. His eyes stayed fixed on mine.“Because it's driving me insane,” he said in a laboured breath.God. This man can't win like this.I hated this man, I needed him to know that. I need him to understand my body's reaction to him is plain memory, nothing more.I folded my arms defensively, turning my face back to him, trying to regain my stance. “Good.”A faint smile almost appeared on his lips before disappearing again. Then he leaned closer slightly. I wanted to move back then I realized our current position, I am trapped between the window and him. He inhaled slowly. His eyes closed almost involuntarily. This action is so intimate that my breath caught embarrassingly fast.“You wore
