Chapter one: Grumpy step brother

If my mother lectured me any harder, the entire steering wheel would melt from the heat of her disappointment. “Jenna, I am begging you, please behave yourself this time.” She said. For the tenth time. In twenty minutes. I slouched deeper into the passenger seat, pushing one earbud in. Not both, because as reckless as she thought I was, I still valued my life and didn’t want to get us killed by ignoring her completely on the expressway. She continued anyway. “You’re 19. You’re in college now. You should be focusing on your degree, not creating chaos.” I resisted the urge to roll my eyes hard enough to detach my retinas. My mind rolled back to two weeks ago and his stupid face still flashed in my mind. It brought me nothing but anger, I could have done more than stabbing that bastard. He’s the reason why I’m being exiled to this fucking countryside and the old ass only college that the town has. “What happened back home was embarrassing, Jenna. Absolutely embarrassing.

Chapter two

A knock on my dragged me out of my dream.“Jenna?” Anna’s voice floated through the door, soft and overly excited for 7 a.m. “Sweetheart, it’s your first day. You have to get up!”Right, First day of school in these new town.I shot up from bed with a burst of energy I definitely didn’t have last night. “I’m awake!” I yelled, even though I was very much still tangled in my blanket like a human burrito. It had been a week since I landed here. A long, painfully quiet week.Alec had been MIA for most of it, drifting in and out like a shadow with a motorcycle. His best friend, Roman was nowhere to be found either. So it had been just me and Anna, baking muffins I didn’t ask for and watching interior design shows together. She was lovely, but I needed people my own age before I lost my mind and started naming the chairs.I rolled out of bed, grabbed the crisp shirt and trouser Anna ironed with too much love, and showered quickly. As I tugged my shirt into place, Anna slipped into the room,

Chapter 3

After long hours of different lectures, with Liza by my side of course, it was finally time to go home. And that was when I realized something very important.I had no transportation. And worse, I didn’t even know my home address.I pulled out my phone and dialed Dad’s number. It rang then went straight to voicemail.I tried again three times and it was still the same.I lowered the phone slowly, exhaling through my nose. The air was getting cooler now, the sky dimming into that dull shade between evening and night.Great.Just great.I shifted my bag higher on my shoulder and leaned slightly against the metal gate, pretending like I wasn’t stranded. Like I was just… waiting. Students passed me every minute. Seconds turning into long stretches of time.Liza had stayed with me at first but I had asked her to go, assuring her that my Dad would be here soon.I had just met her today and the last thing I wanted was to start being a burden. I hated being a burden. My mom used to say I was

Chapter 4

His body froze, mid-thrust. The girl beneath him whimpered, confused by the sudden halt. For a beat, a long, agonizing beat, he simply stared. Then, a slow, chilling smirk spread across his lips. His eyes, still locked on mine, held a malicious glint. The girl cried out a gasp of pleasure as he slammed into her, harder, faster than before. He didn’t break eye contact, neither did he stop thrusting. His gaze burning into me, his smirk widening as the woman moaned, her voice echoing through the room. He was fucking her, and he was making sure I watched. And the worst part? My traitorous and weak body, responded. The ache between my legs intensified, a hot, liquid warmth spreading. My nipples tightened. I could feel my pussy clenching, a desperate, silent plea for release.Shame washed over me, drowning the arousal. What was I doing? Standing here, watching my stepbrother have sex, getting turned on? Disgust curdled in my stomach. I tore my gaze away, a strangled gasp escaping my lips.I

Chapter 5

I dressed up and went downstairs for dinner. Anna was placing some plates on the table, so I joined her, helping arrange them.“Is Dad having dinner with us? He’s not back, is he?” I asked, adjusting the forks.“No, he’ll have his when he’s back,” she replied.“Then who is the extra plate for?” I asked as I pulled out a chair, the wood scraping softly against the floor, and sat.“Alec has a visitor,” she said, her tone casual. She reached for a large serving spoon. “Your Dad said you are lactose intolerant, so I made you a special pasta without cream.” She held out a plate, laden with a vibrant red sauce, steam curling upwards.“Oh, okay, thanks,” I mumbled, taking the plate“You’re welcome,” she smiled warmly.“So… the visitor,” I continued, because obviously I wasn’t going to let that slide. “Who is she?”“Oh, you’ve met her? That’s Kylie. Alec’s childhood friend. She and Roman are the only ones who still stick around him, which I’m grateful for, because Alec can be hard to deal wit

Chapter 6

The next morning, I woke up feeling strangely light, a feeling I hadn’t experienced in weeks. For the first time since I arrived in this town, there was a quiet excitement humming beneath my skin, the kind that made the air itself feel different. I dressed quickly in a simple T-shirt and jeans before heading downstairs. Dad was already standing at the kitchen counter with his usual mug of coffee, while Anna moved around the kitchen preparing breakfast like she always did. “Dad,” I said, trying not to sound too eager, “could I drive one of your cars to school today?” I threw a quick glance at Anna because I knew exactly what she was going to suggest next—that I should just ride with Alec. Not today. Definitely not after what I’d done. Dad looked up from his mug for a moment, studying me like he was trying to figure out what had suddenly put me in such a good mood. “I’ll get the key upstairs,” he said before standing up and walking away with his cup. By the time he came back

Chapter 7

“What does it look like Little Sister?” he replied, his tone almost lazy, like he was testing something. He cups my boobs, gentle at first, but then squeezes hard enough to make me suck in a surprised gasp through clenched teeth.“Is this what you like?” he continued, watching me too closely. “You like it when it’s rough? When it’s a fight? That’s what gets you off?” Now his hand travels lower, grazing my stomach and making the muscles jump under my skin.“What?” I whispered breathlessly. I had no idea what he was rumbling about but he continued anyway.“That day,” he went on, his voice dropping lower, “you stood there watching. Don’t even try to deny it. You were turned on.”My stomach twisted. Not entirely in anger, which annoyed me even more. I couldn’t deny I was wondering how it would feel to have those rough hands gripping my hips tight as he—What the fuck Jenna!I grabbed his wrist and yanked his hand off me, pushing him back.“Are you actually insane?” I snapped, my breathing

Chapter 8

JENNA’S POVTell me why I had been trying to start this stupid car for almost thirty minutes and it still wouldn’t budge.Did Dad seriously give me one of his beat-down cars just to get me to shut up and leave him alone?I groaned and leaned back in the seat before grabbing my phone from my purse. Scrolling through my contacts, I found his number and dialed. He picked up after the second ring.“Hello?” His deep voice came through the speaker.Oh thank God.“What’s wrong, Jenna?” His tone turned stern almost immediately.“The car isn’t working.”“Which car did you take?”“The one you gave me the keys for.”Duh.“What color is it?”“Red?” I replied, leaning my head out of the window to double-check the color like an idiot.“Oh,” he said after a short pause. “I gave you the wrong one.”Of course he did.“I’ll send someone to deal with it. For now, look for your brother or call him. He’ll take you home. I have to go, I’m in a meeting.”The line went dead before I could even respond.Serio

Chapter 9

I followed him as he pushed the door open, and the sharp, sterile smell of antiseptic hit me immediately, burning my nose and making me pause mid-step.“Wait… is this a clinic?”Alec turned back, his boots heavy against the floor as he took a few steps toward me, and without even realizing it, I shifted back.“Yeah,” he said flatly. “Or what, you want me walking into the house like this so your dad can see what you did?”“I —” my voice trailed off as my eyes moved past him.A shirtless man stood across the room, his skin inked with dark tattoos that stretched over a chest built like he lived in the gym, his muscles flexing naturally as he worked on stitching up a deep cut on a guy with dreadlocks sitting on a metal chair. The second man didn’t even flinch, just sat there like pain was something he had made peace with a long time ago, and that alone sent a quiet, uneasy chill down my spine.“—is that a doctor?” I finally finished, my voice laced with disbelief as I dragged my gaze back

Chapter 10

The house was as silent as a graveyard when I pushed the front door open, Alec behind me. The silence immediately felt wrong.Usually Anna was somewhere around the house, humming while cooking, folding clothes in the living room, or watching one of her boring shows. But this time there was nothing. She was a housewife, she barely went out.I frowned slightly as I slipped my shoes off near the door.“Anna?” I called absentmindedly while dropping my bag on the couch. No answer.Oh not today Anna, I’m starving.Alec didn’t seem to notice anything strange at first. He just walked past me, pulling off his leather jacket carelessly before tossing it over the armchair.I glanced toward the kitchen. The lights were on, causing a weird feeling to settle in my stomach.“I’ll check the kitchen,” I muttered, mostly to myself.I walked toward it slowly, my socks sliding against the cold tiles, and the second I stepped into the doorway, my entire body froze.“Anna?”The words barely came out.She w
