ELAINE’S POVWhen I woke up, there was a knot at the back of my neck and my legs felt like jelly. I realized that I had slept on the floor throughout the night and I bit my bottom lip as the memory of the previous night flashed through my mind. “It wasn't a dream then,” I muttered to myself, shutting my eyes and raking my fingers through my hair. My mind was made up already. I was divorcing Richard and today was the day I would do it. I moved through my morning routine, making sure that the door was locked. I wasn't sure how I would face him once I walked out of the room.But I would do it. Once I was dressed and applied light makeup, I went downstairs not knowing what to expect. The living room was empty, so was the patio and Richard's car was not in the driveway either. He left. But to where? Cassandra, probably.
