ZAXRed was pissed at me. At least, she didn’t hate me. Watching her eat the sandwich, licking her lips, gave me a hard-on.She hadn’t realized that her appetite didn’t just change because she was carrying my child but because she was now one of us, and shifting burned a lot of calories.I felt terrible that she had to trigger her werewolf DNA to save me, but I knew she would soon embrace who she was. I was just grateful that her ancestors didn’t take her powers.“Oh, my God. Axl?” She was just standing next to me, watching the team enter the house. In the next seconds, she was pulling Axl into a hug. “Oh, God. I thought you wouldn’t make it.”“I would have been dead if it weren’t for you. Thank you, Luna. I owed you my life.” He hugged her back, carefully, almost hesitantly, because he knew I was watching them.Or she turned into a werewolf for saving him, considering her mother was one of us who practiced witchcraft. Maybe this was what Mason was worried about. She mentioned it earl

REDAs if the world had ground to a halt, his eyes firmly fixed on me, staring at me. I thought he knew. Why did I feel like his reaction was genuine shock, as if he was trying to process the bombshell?“You’re pregnant.” His voice echoed. It wasn’t a question.“Yes.” I nodded.“You’re sure?”Another nodded, then I looked away when I couldn’t handle the look in his eyes anymore.“How? When?” Confusion was evident in his voice. If I had known, I would have kept it to myself until the threat was over. I was only distracting him, making him worry for my safety. Now, he would tighten the security around me instead of focusing on Elessios and his plan of attack. My head whipped at him. “When? How? Are you fucking kidding me right now? Haven’t you learned biology in your class? Maybe I shouldn’t have told you and run away instead.”As if my words hit like a physical blow to him, he flinched. “Whoa!” He swallowed hard, raising his hands. “Sweetheart, calm down. You told me to pretend to be

RED“Did I grow horns like a goat?” I touched my head and made sure I wasn’t turning into a satyr because I felt like it, like how the enforcers looked at me at the dining table. “What’s going on?”Axl mimicked a goat sound, making everyone laugh. “Hey! Show some respect. She’s our luna, for Goddess’s sake. When you’re done filling your stomach, feel free to leave.”“It’s fine.” I picked up my plate. “Enjoy your breakfast.”“No, please, Luna. Stay,” said the other delta. I believed his name was Chris. “We apologize.”They all dropped their gaze and continued eating.I ate my lunch in silence. Zax didn’t even bother waking me up, but I felt him coming back after the briefing or whatever he did downstairs this morning. Right now, I didn’t know where he was, and so did the rest of the guys.Once I finished my lunch, I went to his office and met Kate in the hallway.“Hey.” She smiled. “How are you feeling? Any morning sickness yet?” So, she knew. Zax must have already informed her and Ave

REDShock almost paralyzed me as I stared at my ex, who had just walked into the bar. I thought he was dead, and a dead person didn’t walk straight like that. He was too alive to be dead.“Castillo.” I gasped out, holding onto his wrist tightly as I dragged him away from the bar.“Red, what’s wrong?” I could tell by his voice that he was worried about me.I didn’t stop until we got to Zax’s car. There, I let go a shuddering breath and took another deep, long breath. Four seconds, then six seconds, and then eight seconds.“You look pale. Are you okay?” Castillo’s eyebrows wrinkled staring at me. “What happened?”“I just saw my ex, but I thought I shot him with the tranquilizer gun, and they put him in the cage, and he drank wolfsbane with the woman instead of giving up the name of their boss, but he doesn’t look dead at all, Castillo.”“In the bar?” His frown deepened looking back at the bar. “It was dark. Maybe you thought you saw him. Or maybe it’s his doppelganger.”“You didn’t jus

RED“So you got a wolf, but you smell the same,” AnneMarie said.“Is that a good thing or a bad thing?” I looked at her, wrinkling my nose. This was the first time we talked since that incident in Nicaragua and the first time that it was just us in the car, without me feeling insecure or thinking of squeezing the life out of her.“It’s a good thing. You can hide yourself from the throngs of werewolves and other beings, but how do you feel?”“I don’t know.” I shrugged. “I feel the same and weird at the same time that I can transform into a wolf while there’s no voice in my head. Do you think it’s permanent?”She brusquely looked at me and focused back on the road. “I think so. I’ve heard of werewolves losing their wolf, but most of them did not survive. Shadow, Alpha Califf’s mate, lost her wolf by magic, but she got it back. I don’t know. Your case is unique. Why did you ask? You don’t like being a werewolf?”“I think it’s fine, as long as I won’t lose my humanity. And you, werewolves
