But she never listens to the words of her mother, knowing that she is just backwards and stuck in the olden days. Where she thinks all a female is good for is to get married and take care of her family. Catori knew she had her own destiny, she just didn't know what it was yet. That was until she decides to become a nun and learnt some daunting information about the small one horse, snowy town she lives in. Dragons are real, she is one of them and her mate lives in the very mountains the chef tells everyone to stay away from. Will Catori be able to be with her mate? Prologue
I must make myself available to live. Once upon a time...... No, our story won’t start like that. Desolation, Middleton. A small village west of the Moon, and east of the Sun, the southernmost village in the Country of Charming. Population, 175. Ironic isn’t it? Desolation in Charming. Or more like Charming with a little Desolation, either way, this one mule village wasn’t like other small villages you saw in the movies. Unless it was a black and white silent film where all the people wore nothing but fur, the pavements were chunks of concrete and they lived too far from the Capital. Without the luxury of a Starbucks, or even a real supermarket. Only exchanging fish and grains when the weather wasn’t a torturing cold force that froze over even the sun. The high school and pre-school were one and the same, with an old chalkboard and elders that couldn’t even remember their own last names as teachers. Only a few we

I have the power to walk right! The power to talk right! And the power to live right! At fifteen after ten on a raw January night, Catori sat on a deep purple comforter just outside her house watching the clear night skies. All the stars were out as usual, and she got an unobstructed view of the Milky Way. As Catori sat to watch for the meteor show, that was supposed to be happening for the next two hours, but the only thing brighter than the stars thus far was the moon. The light of the full moon beat down on Desolation, creating a vivid canvas on the snow and rocks. Her mind drifted to her friend, wondering if she was having fun with everyone else as they watch the night sky as well. Maybe if Catori wasn't so socially awkward, she would have gone, but a group of over three people just wasn't her thing. She was always over-analysing the situation, overthinking what to say, and what people would say about her. S

I must make myself available to life. Catori never thought much of the world. Though she now had reason enough in the past few days, the pressures of being a young lady were burdening her down. Never did Catori imagine it like this. All her life, she was told how to live and who to love. But today that will change. In hopes of things getting better, Catori went to the only place she thought could help her, be her refuge in a time of confusion. With a racing heart, Catori knocked on the old rusting iron door, wondering if the occupants inside were still expecting visitors. The door swung open with a creaking sound and dragged on the ground. “Needs grease,” Catori said to herself, as she stepped inside the threshold. The old automatic door slammed behind Catori, as her eyes adjust to the dim light that washed the inside of the Church. It seemed to be the biggest building in Desolation, and the only

I will continue feeling bad until my attitude improves. "Catori, can you stop messing around and help me make dinner?" Her mother called out.  Catori gritted her teeth as to not say something back in front of her siblings. ''Catori!" Her mother burst into the room toward her. Catori stared back at her. "Get up. You must learn to cook. And don't you dear say you already know how to. There is never such a thing as too much." Farrah said. She threw an apron at Catori's head. Catori sighed but got up.  She didn't have it in her anymore to argue with her mother, but there was one thing she wanted to say. "I just hope you don't put Kai through all this nonsense. All this can cause a mental strain on one's mind," Catori told her mother. Farrah turned to look at Catori. "you have just too much to say, and speaking of which. Kai come, today you'll learn to set the dinner table."

Trying to prove something to someone is never a valid reason for doing anything. The moment Catori's parents came back from the Capital, she left the house. Not only did she want fresh air, but she needed human interaction other than her family. Catori walked down to the old pond situated just behind the schoolyard, the usual hang-out spot for people her age. Of course, they didn't work because their parents never let them. They can't leave either and no one wanted to get married yet. So they all did the next best thing, went out from dusk until dawn, tell stories, drank stolen brandy from their parents' cupboards and goofed around, with the occasional destroying a few properties. “Are you coming to the forbidden mountains with us?’’ Halona asked in a sing-song voice, as she danced around Catori. “It’s called forbidden for a reason,” Catori informed her best friend, as she draped a slender arm across Hal

Life will work for me when I realize... I Cannot breakthrough until I have a breakdown. Catori ran until she was breathless, sweaty, and her icy pants cut at the lungs.  She had never run so far and fast in her life, not even when that polar bear chased after her. The small group didn't stop running until they were at the base of the mountain, all too scared to utter a word or glance behind them.  Maybe from fear of the man, maybe in fear of his people or something worst. Catori glanced over at Calian. His face was blank and unreadable as he stumbled over his feet. His usual sleek back dark hair was now messy and blown out from the wind. Kateri had a bored look on her face. In fact, she yawned, trying to be as nonchalant as possible, but Catori could see her trembling. Her eyes drifting back and forth, looking for any unseen danger. "Who the hell was that?" Halona was the first to speak

Catori's dream...... There was no ground beneath my feet. I was clawing at the air. Falling. We both were falling. Our fingertips touch and I saw green sparks in the darkness. Then I slipped through his fingers, and all I could feel was a loss. "Come back, I try to say," but my voice never came. I watched hopelessly as dragons tear at his skin with their teeth and claws; he fought them off but his effort was feeble. Catori jerked awake with a stare, her head spinning from the rush of getting up too fast. She hawked around her bedroom, noting that it was still night. Catori's sheets were drenched in sweat, her head throbbed as she fell back down on her bed, waiting for the dream to recede. Her dr

Life is always accommodating my requests... ___________________________________________________________________ Elsewhere in the Alpina mountain of Desolation, Rydstorm, the leader of the Rexona clan. Paced back and forth in the frosty room of the bathhouse. Still not believing that he had finally found his mate, he hated the fact that she was clinging to a human and the fact that she seemed terrified of him. But he knew that either way he will get her, even if he had to kill her human counterpart. She was his mate and he would do whatever it took to get her. Rydstorm thought about shaving to seem more appealing to her, or maybe smiling more. His mean look was what made him so unapproachable. Just then, the doors were pushed in roughly and in walked Rydstorm's second in command and best friend, Fang. Standing tall and mighty, walking with nothing but confidence. "What's this I hear about going to that place?" Fang asked, taking
