Jace Katherine Sullivan found herself trapped in a deal with the God of Darkness—Helion. She never thought such transcendent being exists, but he proved it real. Helion has been searching for the girl who has the invisible mark of lotus for decades, which is Katherine, to sacrifice her in the bridge of death and bring his sister back to life. But in order for the bridge of life to accept the offering, Katherine must be willing enough to do it, the reason why Helion had no choice but to make a deal with her. He will do the things she wants, and in return, she will give her life to him later on. Katherine asks him to give her a month to do everything she wants before he takes her life and he agreed. However, as they spend time with each other, an unexpected bond grows and Helion just found himself saving her from all the dangers. But as they face their complicated relationship issues, mysteries began to unfold and Katherine found out the truth behind her identity, that she has a demon blood running in her veins. The deities protecting the human realm are threatened by this, reason why they are going to Katherine at all cost. But Helion is willing to do whatever it takes to protect her.

Chapter 1: Beautiful Illusion
Death.Something I never feared of. But at that moment, for the first time, I got scared. I wasn't scared of my own death, but for his — my uncle.Sometimes I think, why are we even born when at the end, we’d just all die? I always wonder why beautiful things tend to end tragically. Just like life. No matter how beautiful your journey was, you'd still end up taking that one, narrow path that leads to one destination. Death. They say, it's not the end that matters. What's important is what your journey entails. The moments you shared with your loved ones, the smiles and laughs you spent with them, and all the things you experienced.Standing on the rooftop of the hospital, my tears fell as I stared at the dark sky, hoping that my silent prayers will be heard by someone above. My uncle got into a fatal accident. He's in a coma, and the only thing that's keeping him alive is the life support system.I couldn't organize my thoughts when I heard about it. I was shocked and terribly scared.

Chapter 2: Not Allowed
Illusion.Yes. That was it. All of that is not true. Maybe it was the product of stress and too much frustration. It can't be possible, I said to myself when I woke up on my bed the next day.I remember everything that happened on the rooftop. What the man said and what I saw in his eyes. I also remembered how Nari came and called me. And the next second, the stranger disappeared on thin air as if he wasn't even there. Nari didn't even see him. So, I thought everything that happened was just an illusion.Maybe Uncle's situation triggered something in my head. I got a trauma long time ago, so maybe that is the reason why hallucinations resurfaced again.I got up despite the weight of the body. I bathed and got dressed. I'm going to the hospital to replace Nari in taking care of Uncle.Nari is a close friend. She just forced me to go home last night to rest. I didn't agree at first, but thinking about all those strange things I saw, I thought I really needed to rest. That hallucination

Chapter 3: Deal of Death
I really thought it was the end of me.“Did I scare you?” he asked, a smirk was plastered on his face.I admit, he is such a fine looking man, but what he just did… it was insane!“You!” I pushed his chest. “Put me down!”“All right.” He chuckled and he did as he was told.I looked around to see if the building collapsed, but to my surprise, I found that we are still in the same room. Uncle is peacefully lying in the hospital bed while Nari is at the corner, unconscious. A low gasp escaped from my lips when I figured what happened wasn’t true. This man must have toyed my mind and made up those stupid illusions!“How dare you scare me like that!” I yelled to him. I’m really pissed this time. “I can see now that you are real and not just my hallucination, but should you really do that? I don’t care what you are, or what’s your purpose for meddling with my life, but please! Don’t toy me! I am facing a big problem and I can’t—”“I told you, didn’t I? I will put an end to that problem of y

Chapter 4: Her Stalker
Insanity. That's how probably how other people would see what I've just done. I made a deal with a deity. I've promised to give him my life. I couldn't even believe it myself. But then, thinking about what he can do for me, I guess it's worth it, right? How am I going to continue my life without Uncle, anyway? I don't think I can do it. I don't think I can live my life to its fullest if he dies when I know that I could have done something but chose not to. Uncle has been selfless ever since the day he decided to raise me. How can I be selfish? One month. At least he gave me one month."Did you hear the doctor, Jace? Did you hear him?" Nari said in disbelief. Even I couldn't believe it myself. The doctor just said that a miracle happened and everything is fine with my uncle now.I looked over Nari's shoulder and found Helion leaning on the wall at the far corner of the hallway. He smirked and winked at me.I immediately knew. He did it. He really is a deity. But if he is that powerful,

Chapter 5: Threatening Fury
"What the hell are you doing here? Are you following me?""Woah," he laughed. "Chill. You're making it sound like I'm sort of a stalker. You're so full of yourself. Can't I be in this luxurious cruise ship?""I don't believe you."He rolled his eyes and went closer to me. "Fine. I just want to check if you are still breathing. I want to ensure your life for the whole month so you can't break the agreement.""Thank you for the concern, Mr. Deity, but I'm not a walking disaster nor a magnet of troubles. I made it for two decades, why can't I make it for another month?""I just have a bad feeling. I feel like you'd be in trouble often.""Maybe you mean I'd be in trouble often because of you."I walked towards the other side of the deck but he just followed me."Can you please stop following me? I have a job to do," I snapped."Why are you still working, anyway? I can give you money. How much do you want? I can give you everything. Just tell me."I stopped and faced him. "So you want to p

Chapter 6: Narcissistic
The man's hand on my arm immediately fell. They stepped back but stopped when continuous thunders echoed in the sea. I got startled too, but I stood still on my position and fixed my eyes on the man in front. He's just standing there, no weapons, and eyes glowing in the midst of darkness. He didn't just look dangerous. He looked lethal. The look in his eyes screamed bloodshed. The thought of what he could do in anger made me shiver.Even if I've only known him for a few days, I know what he's capable of doing. He can save someone in the brink of death, but he can also send someone in hell. He's ruthless and only cares for his own benefit, but at that moment, I was thankful that he came. Even if he's just doing this because he wants me alive until that time, I felt warmth for some reason.I'm going crazy, I think. Who knows he's the one causing all these troubles, right? What if all the misfortunes happening to me is because he is around me."They hit you?" Helion asked so silently, lo

Chapter 7: Petname
It was a long day for me. We were like stalkers stalking each of the women I chose. I actually don't like doing this kind of stuff but I got no choice since I want my uncle to have a woman he can be together with when I'm gone. I don't want him to suffer in loneliness. I want him to have a family of his own and be happy even without me.I honestly feel sad that I won't be able to witness his wedding, his kids, his family and do things we promised to do together, but now that Heavens forbid it, then I won't fight against my fate. If I have to jump into the hell fire just so could my loved ones will not suffer, then I will.Uncle had sacrificed so much for me, he just doesn't want me to think that I am a burden to him, but I seriously think so. Because look, he's a man in forties, still unmarried and supporting me. Back then I told myself that if he won't marry ever, I will take care of him when he gets old. That it is fine because I will be there for him. But now this it's different. I

Chapter 8: Portal to Paris
“Wait, how did you do that?” I asked Helion while looking at my uncle having dinner with the woman in a restaurant, amazed and dumbfounded.Helion smirked proudly.“You are so good in matchmaking. Are you a deity of love or are somewhat like cupid?”He laughed and shook his head. “Cupid? No, Katherine. That is the last identity I would like to have. I’d rather be a lowly angel of death than play that role. Being a matchmaker of humans is tiresome. And I don’t want to see people having successful love life because of me when I’m not fond of romance myself.”We left the restaurant and walked along the street. I couldn’t help but smile thinking that Uncle will be in good place when I’m gone. There’s no point in being sad with my fate anyway. I’m happy enough to leave my Uncle in happiness. Sure, he would grieve for me, but he will get past it. Someone will be there to help him cope up. And it’s okay that he would forget about me. He should live the life I snatched from him.“Do you want

Chapter 9: Dancing Crowd
"Feliz cumpleaños, Amor," Joaquin once caressed my cheek.I laughed and watched our other friends went to our lounge. Nikki and Aileen kissed me. Landon hugged me. Those who pass by our lounge also greet me. I smiled to them sweetly."You're extra sexy tonight, Leira. Is it because it's your birthday? Or because we're already married and you're about to get married?" and Nikki."Come on, let's not talk about my life after college! We're here to celebrate my birthday. Aren't we?"Aileen laughed. "Yes, yes! Happy twenty two years of existence, lovely Aleira!""I thought Travis will come? Got tired of him?" Landon asked me, smiling."Oh, don't mention it. I don't need a crazy and jealous boyfriend. Will I be banned from going out tonight! E 'di goodbye!"One of the traits I hate the most is being too possessive. I don't want to be strangled and controlled by men just because we're in a relationship. I always tell my boys beforehand that I don't want the clingy and controlling type. I don

I bumped into some but I didn’t care. I went in front of him to block his way. He stopped and eyed me with dangerous eyes."Move.""Why don't we dance first?""As I said, I'm not here to entertain–"He stiffened under the touch of my lips on his. I've never been so bold to kiss a stranger. But tonight, I managed. I guess it's because I want to prove that I can rule any man I want. Maybe he also brought alcohol so he was more courageous. My hands were on his nape, slightly pulling him down so I could kiss him better. His lips are soft, the only soft part of him I guess. It was delicious to kiss. I've kissed many boys but I never felt that strong urge to kiss a someone. Just now.I felt his warm hands on my waist, firm and ready to push me away. So I hooked my arm around his neck even more. I then grazed my tongue softly on his lower lip. He stiffened more, his hold weakening.I slightly tilted my head and grinned. I started stroking his nape with my fingers. His eyes turned darker and
