"Did you ever even love me?" "Laylin-" He tried to hold her hand but she slapped it away. "No. You were always ashamed of me! Did it even matter to you how I felt being ridiculed as your mistress?" ..... She fell in love with him at first sight and it hurt because he had a lover. He had no place for her in his perfect royal life. She was just a human Princess sent as a hostage to him, but it all changed the moment his lycan marked her. Laylin is given to the Lycan King of Rakhbar on his ascending to the throne after a successful coup as a sign of a peace treaty by her father. Stripped of her status, she’s forced to be a Mistress for the cruel King because he wants to hide his weak mate. Little does he know, Laylin is anything but weak. With all that she had to suffer for his love, is it even worth it? Should she stay in this messed-up relationship or give up on him? Will she even have a choice once her father breaks the treaty and instate a war?
view more"Sire, please!" She begged the devil who smirked at her misery. The devil who had seduced her. Her fiance. Desperate tears welled up in her ocean eyes. "Please, I don't want to die... Help me!"
"Laylin." He breathily called her name, thumping her heart. She saw his sculpted face through the smoke of his cigar. The huskiness in his voice flustered her. He beckoned her closer with his two fingers.
It was humiliating but she was a fool who swallowed her pride and took tentative steps closer whenever he beckoned her.
'I hate myself for loving you.' She shut her eyes in self-loathing but... it was him.
He observed her with lazy golden eyes that had been bewitched at first sight. Then, he took another swig of his cigar with disinterest. Her heart clenched in pain.
'Why? Why must he look at me like that? Why couldn't he look at her like he looked at her?' The complaints were at the tip of her tongue but she held it in.
Clenching her fist, she stepped forward to stand beside the divan he was seated on.
"Closer." She was already too close than was appropriate for an unmarried woman!
He tilted his head, looking at her face burning in mortification. A sadistic glint entered his eyes. "Close enough so I can look down in your daring eyes."
His forefinger bends to point at the floor. Ambrose smirked when her widened eyes met him.
She swallowed the emotions stuck in her throat. She took a deep breath to calm her heart that was thundering in her chest.
"Ple-Please. I beg of you." She whispered and her voice cracked. Kneeling down in front of the cruel man who was the only person who could be her savior now, she begged. "Please... help me! I-I don't want to die. If the trial happens I... and Eloise-"
"You should have thought of it before you tried to assassinate Sayon." He indifferently mocked her and she clenched her teeth. "You are repulsively malicious for a weak human."
Her heart throbbed. She loved him, and the disgust in his eyes pierced her heart more than the mocking whispers or dirty looks others gave her.
She had shouted she didn't do it till her throat was dry but no one here would believe her. He would never believe her over 'her'. If she brought it up, he would throw her out without another word.
Her lower lip trembled. She was guilty of being framed. She was guilty of being gullible. Her innocence was her crime.
"I... I'm at fault. Please help me." She held his sleeve. "I'll devote my life to you!"
Soffing, he snatched his sleeve. "Devote your life to me? Your life is already over." He chuckled, his laugh filled with sick amusement. "You must think highly of yourself to assume that ogling you was more than enough to please a man."
Laylin's face lost color, she staggered in disbelief. "W-What?"
"Oh, so you did." He feigned to be surprised.
She couldn’t bear to look at him any longer, swiftly turning her head downwards. Her pride was wounded and this but she still stayed rooted in place.
He was crude and his language was dirty but this cruel world had abandoned her. "Sire, I'll live the rest of my life quietly with virtue-"
"Oh?" He cut her off with a rise of his brow. "And what is in it for me if you live quietly?"
Nothing. There was nothing that she could ever offer him.
Delighted at her crestfallen face, he grabbed her jaw to tilt her head up at him. her eyes met his when a shiver ran down her spine. His eyes had the lust she had seen often before.
A profane desire opposite of the romantic love she foolishly hoped he would give her. It made her skin crawl.
"Si... Sire..." She tried to pull away from him but his hold on her jaw only tightened. Her body shivered with cold fear.
His eyes ran over her body under the flimsy nightdress and humiliation washed over her. She grabbed his wrist but his magnetic glare kept her frozen on spot. Should she leave now, she would surrender her only hope of helping herself and her only family.
Lust gleamed in his eyes when he met her terrified eyes. He clicked his tongue, drinking in her ethereal form. "Sweetheart, Ehan, your beloved land, has abandoned you. Your family and allies have turned their backs on you." His other hand tapped on the open letter with her father's seal. "I'm your only salvation."
She clutched the letter, trying to free herself from his arms but he just pulled her in his lap.
"No." Her eyes read the content in disbelief. She couldn't say she didn't see it coming but it pierced her heart like a nail was hammered on it.
Her father had given the King all the rights to punish her!
"No... Why?" She broke then. She knew her father couldn't are less for but... how could he leave her to die?
Fear of death made her heart shiver.
"I am all you have." His hot breath fanned over her frozen-cold face. "Sell your soul to me, Laylin."
She looked back in disbelief at the devilishly handsome face through her tears.
"Abdicate your title, leave your name, and be my concubine, I'll dissolve all charges against you." Whispering, he ran his finger smoothly on her plump lips.
'Concubine? A concubine when she was set to be his legal wife? He wanted her to live like a mistress! Was it so he could make her his wife...?'
A new wave of fury surged in her but all she could do was chew on her lower lip. Rebellious tears streaked down her face. After the assassination she was framed for, there was no way she was qualified to be his wife but... to be a concubine?
"You love me, you will have me." He made a promise, she knew he wouldn't honor with that deceitfully sweet smile. His smile throbbed in her heart not helping her case. "You will not need anything."
His voice was enticing, his manipulation deceitful. He was indeed a demon.... and he was asking her to sell her soul to him.
Alarms bell rang warning her of the hell she was jumping in but she was too far gone to be saved.
This demon was her only salvation. He was immoral and sinister but it didn't matter. The only thing that mattered was her revenge.
Revenge on those who took her innocence, starting from his lover who was the last straw.
"...Thank you." At her broken will, the King smirked. Both of them knew that her life would never be the same again.
'Soon.' She promised herself. 'I'll make you regret this day, my love.' She swore as her vision blurred with tears.
At that moment, she recalled how the esteemed Princess of Ehan ended up in this demon's clutches.
“So Crimson Rukh, how do you feel about marrying me?”His question left everyone present speechless. Even bloodied and battered Ambrose scoffed. Laylin clenched her jaw and tried to walk past him but he blocked her path yet again. At the end of her wits, Laylin burst out. “Get out of my way while I’m being nice!” Her voice trembled as she tried to run to her husband.Tilting his head in confusion, the demon sneered with contempt a second later. "Oh… Is that this dog’s filthy mark? Now that complicates things," he jeers. “I will have to kill him.”With his one tendril, he threw Laylin at a broken pillar and held her there while he slowly walked to the Lycan King."Screw you!" Ambrose spluttered, exerting himself to the fullest despite his state. The demon cackled, throwing his head back, “Your worthless mother didn’t teach you manners.” He picked him up in the air and slammed him back down.Laylin screamed and struggled but her aura couldn’t fight against his sheer force. With her, sev
"...I still think you should see her," Laylin mumbled, in his embrace. When he didn't reply, she buried herself deeper in his embrace. "...Sorry. I should not talk about it recklessly." She mumbled saltily. It was a sensitive subject and she didn't have the courage to look him in the eye.He smirked, looking down at her. She was on edge and sensitive to his emotions. He wanted to pinch her puffed-up cheeks with how adorable she was being. His darkened features at that time must have put her on guard. Instead, he settled with running his hand in her hair. He still remembered the spitfire she was, ready to bite him when he first forced her to be his Mistress. He laid back suddenly on the divan, making her fall on him. "Ambrose!""Laylin." He held her by the waist, settling her on him. She instantly struggled to get off him but he held her there."What?! Someone will see!" she was huffing puffing while her face reddening in embarrassment."Laylin." He called her out again in his low se
"I'm sure you know if you try something, she dies." His eyes swept over Valerie and Ivan. "One less pawn won't make a difference.""No. Not her! Don't touch her!" She desperately tried to crawl but only ended up stumbling and falling on the bloody arena ground. "Let her go this instant!" She begged desperately as her heart was bursting out.Her mother shook her head, her eyes telling her to let her go but it only made Laylin more desperate."Oh, so you love the mother who abandoned you?" Sansy seemed amused and he cackled. "What to do though? You didn't want to be part of my 'shitshow'."Laylin shook her tear-soaked face, "Okay! Okay. Tell them to step back. Let her go and I promise, I will!" Sansy scoffed at the naivety of the Princess, "And why should I let her go?"At the end of her wits, Laylin snapped back. "I will help you!"She couldn't use her aura easily in these handcuffs. No matter how fast her aura might be but the moment she unleashes it, every wizard here will feel the
It happened when all soldiers lost hope and thought they were fighting a battle with the fate to be defeated. ‘BOOOM!’ ‘THUD! THWACK! THUD!’ An explosion collapsed the outer wall of the palace and dark wizards and soldiers alike flooded in water crushing through from who-knows-where. But shock registered when they met the eyes of the person standing where the wall once stood. “I see. I almost missed all the fun.” There stood Princess Laylin scowling at her torn dress getting wet and an equally pissed woman behind her. “Did you really have to go this far? How am I going to walk around in this now!” Valerie was about ready to knock this stupid Princess out. Every man on the ground, thanks to the knee-high water flooding the palace, was shocked at the carefree women barging in as if they were taking a stroll in the garden. Ivan’s eyes widened. ‘That foolish Princess was here, in the middle of a battle! The King was right out of the door. If she dropped dead here, they wouldn’t b
She kept her hand on her belly and smiled solemnly. He was a piece of her and her husband. An heir to her lover. “Ahh.. To be young. Though I don’t really like the man, I certainly despise him less than your mother does. I’m not much of a success as a Red Witch so I have no such obsession with bloodlines or species. I just care for my family.” Laylin bit her bottom lip, shrugging. “Mother is... She will come around.” “Hmm, hope so. But I see... you look madly in love.” Berilla teased, looking at her distracted expression. "It must hurt your pride to love him more than he loves you." “What? No!” Laylin rolled her eyes, her smile still playing on her lips. “He’s the one who is chasing me. I just set my grace on my eager lover.“ She was flexing when both of them knew, Laylin was crazy enough in love to dive head-first in a war zone or in front of a raging monster. Laylin looked away. Her smile deepened. She did love him more but it didn't matter as long as he loved her back. A silen

It had been days since the rightful King had set foot in the home he despised and lived for.But now, with a burning sense of urgency in his heart, he returned to reclaim his throne. Laylin was expecting, he could feel his spawn growing stronger by the day. ‘SHIIINGG!’He walked solemnly, his two long swords dragging behind him.
