His focus was ahead as if he was looking through the wind and finding his way in that broad hazy day. The summer had just departed and the days and nights had started to get chilly in the Valley, but it wasn’t yet Winter. The whole Valley turned dark for one long month when it was winter getting no amounts of sunlight. Dank had paid much attention to the comforts of his people in recent years bringing in more and more technological materials in the valley. They used to conserve sunlight for crops and lighthouses in the winter. Unlike other days, it was a little hazy with occasional sun and fog.

It was the best day ever. Or so I thought at the time. Just like our first date, George took me sailing. He had a picnic of delicacies set up for us. Wine and cheese with fresh fruit, oh, and those amazing crackers I could never get enough of. It was the perfect weather for it, just enough wind without overdoing it. The breeze kissed my skin, leaving goosebumps. I couldn't help but feel as though it were the best day ever. And he said all the right things, looked at me with those eyes, green my favorite color, that seemed to sparkle just so in the sunlight. I was a girl in romance heaven as he fed me grapes.

I didn’t bother with an umbrella; it was a bit hot, but I felt lighter than I had in years. Even the darkest places eventually see the light.

PRISCILLIA P.O.V I honestly didn't understand why the sun decided to cook my fresh skin this morning. I usually stayed under the sun from like 7:00 to 7:30, just to be blessed naturally with VITAMIN D. It was a daily routine, a daily routine that blessed my skin and bones in different measures. All my years of carrying out this action I have never felt this roasted, I mean I had just spent ten minutes. Just ten minutes under the sun and I was already sweating terribly. If you hadn't known better you would think I fell into the pool. I honestly felt like I had offended nature, like it was just 7:10 and the sun was this hot, I wondered what it would be like at noon.

Right now I didn’t even care that all the lights in the house were on. It was a thirty minute drive to Theodore’s. The ride was slow and quiet. We were all lost in our thoughts. The dull sound of the tires on the tarmac and the smooth rev of the engine were the only sound that dominated the car through out the entire ride. In a distance, the mansion that hosted most members of the coven appeared. The sun was hidden by dark clouds. This amount of sunlight would have still killed Allen a few months ago. Allen knew that the day he could walk under the sunlight would eventually come, but he didn’t expect that it would come almost at random. At first, the sunlight still stings a bit, but the more he exposes himself to the sun, the more it becomes bearable. He extended his hand, looking at his skin that was directly exposed to sunlight. Allen promised himself that once he could do this, he would do his best to support Elijah like his master did for all the years he couldn’t get out for half the day.
