He nodded like he was filing that away in some mental journal.
“Okay,” he said. “What about textures? Soft, firm, warm, cool?”
“Warm. Soft,” I whispered.
Kai smiled, but it wasn’t smug. It was fond. “You like gentle.”
“I think so,” I said.
He leaned in slightly, not touching, not even brushing but his proximity was enough to make my lungs forget how to work.
“You’re already learning,” he said quietly. “Just by listening to your body. That’s the first step.”
