“You can do whatever you want.” “Well you already know my name is Jake and I’m 21; I’m from a small town about a day south of here.” Well it’s good to know that his pack isn’t anywhere close to mine, “I work in real estate with my best friend; he’s the boss.” In other words he’s the Alpha, “What about you?” “I’m Charlotte and I’m 19.” I said simply and he raised a brow. “That’s it?” “That’s it; were you expecting some kind of life story?” Seeing the hurt on his face made my heart clench and I almost took back my words.

When they had left, Dean was just fourteen years old and of a skinny build while Jade was eighteen and Jake was just eight. Two years down the road and Dean couldn’t be recognized. At sixteen, he was 5’9ft tall and had broad shoulders. One could mistake him for an eighteen-year-old easily. Heck, he was a head taller than even Jade who was now twenty and had an enormous appetite. Even if money was tricky to come by, Jade made sure he always had enough to eat. Jake also looked better than before though he was still smaller than most kids who were ten.

Traditions ran deep and rules were strict. Jake was twenty eight. Tall with strong shoulders from years of working on the family farm and in the workshop. He had dark messy hair and eyes that seemed to see too much. He lived in the house with his parents and his younger brother. But the one who made everything complicated was his cousin Ryan.

It was his team, and he was the alpha! he says, there’s a glint in his eyes. “You the player, you met a lady; are you serious about her?”, he smiles, “we’ve been dating for 9 months”. I’m surprised; the highest Jake has dated anyone is 2 months and then he gets bored and dumps them. “I'min love” he shrugs; I really happy to see this side of him, he’s finally grown up, his parents would be excited at the prospect of marriage for their only son. “Congratulations!”, he smiles revealing his dimples, “you must really like her; do you plan on marrying her”

"I also have to get Jake from his grandmother's house." "Jake? Who is Jake?" I haven't heard of anyone called Jake since I moved here. I need to start keeping abreast with the pack. In fact, from tomorrow on, I will start learning about them. "Didn't you know? Jake is my son. He is about three years old now. I have missed him so much," she said with longing. Her eyes sparkled, full of love for her son. "What?! I had no idea. You don't look like you have birthed a human being! You still look so young and fit! You don't even look a day over 20."

I followed Caren as she went off the bus. "Oh, your boyfriend's not here." I commented when I didn't see Jake's and his familiar motorbike at the campus gate. "Jake has an early class today." "Oh, he's studying?" "Of course. He's already in college." Caren smiled proudly. "He's two years older than me." I didn't expect that. I thought Jake was just some dropped out rich kid. So, that asshole is at least in college, huh. "Where does he study?"

Is it too late now? Under the table, Ryder kicked both her parents at the same time making them snap out of it. Embarrassed, Michelle coughed twice. "How old are you, Jake?" "Twenty," Jake said with a calm voice. Even though the atmosphere was quite awkward, as long as Ryder's parents didn't tell him to break up with her, he could deal with everything. He didn't care what they thought about him, whether they liked him or not. He only cared what Ryder thought. He only needed Ryder's love. Still... he needed the Quinn couple's approval so he was on his best behavior, as if he wasn't the one who kissed their daughter's lips swollen earlier today nor like he was the one who sneaked in her room a

He loves drawing and painting and he believes that one day he will become a great artist, and I don't have any reason to doubt this, because he is very talented. "How old are you?" I asked Jake, who seem taken aback by my question. We were seated on a public chair close to my spot, eating biscuits and talking on a very cold evening. It was getting late and we had been sitting out here for so long. That is how we mostly spend our evenings, talking and sharing each other day experiences and finding comfort in ourselves. “I'm nineteen,” he said with a smile, he has the most beautiful smile I have ever seen. “Oh you are three years older than me," I said.

I tried to smile and help with the food but my mind was somewhere else. Then he walked in. Uncle Jake. Well, not really my uncle but that is what I have called him since I was little. He is my dad’s best friend for over twenty years. Jake is forty four years old, tall and strong with salt and pepper hair, a deep voice, and hands that look like they could hold a girl down easily. He has always been handsome in that mature way that makes women stare. He never married and I used to catch him looking at me sometimes when I grew older. I always told myself it was nothing.
