Her Eighteenth Birthday

Her Eighteenth Birthday

As I stared I wondered within me what could possibly make news on such a beautiful day. “Oh! It is the 18th of May” I said to myself as I smiled. This day was of course very special to me and most especially to my best friend Courtney because it was her birthday. Courtney and I had known each other since we were five. They first moved into our neighborhood shortly after Courtney's father(Mr. Williams) lost his job as a bartender because of his ill mannered and insolent behavior 13years ago. On this very special day, I already had Courtney's birthday present well figured out and as always, I was so certain she'd love what I had got her.

The Forbidden Truth

The Forbidden Truth

President Carlton looked at the silent and confused hunters and smiled at them. "I remember collapsing earlier before I could commence the order to begin the battle royale. I don't know how much time has passed, but we need to finish this by today because tomorrow will be the big day when the massive portal will open." President Carlton said as he swept his eyes on every hunter on the field. "Now get to your respective groups and positions. You needn't to worry about my health for just as you have heard I feel like I turned back to time for twenty years." The hunters hesitated for a bit, but still they did what President Carlton said. Seolurrie swept her eyes on the crowd to find her groupma

I really liked this book. Too bad it ends after 36 chapters and hasn't been added to in a couple of weeks. If y'all want people to pay to read your books, at least write something. This is the second book, this has happened with. I think I'm done with good novel.

Great story!! refreshing to read something different then other books on good novel. loved the complexity of the worlds and characters. would have been nice to have it a bit longer, and more lucas scenes, but still greatly enjoyed it. looking forward to the next book!

Star Dust

Star Dust

“Yes, you can.” He pulled her up, and then he pulled her close as the music went on. A slower song from the eighties that he would struggle with to remember as they all seemed to sound the same, but this would be something to him and hopefully her. He brought her closer to him and held her in the darkness of the surrounding night swaying to the song. When it was over, he looked down at her face as her eyes were closed, and she looked at peace for a moment.

Twenty-Eight Days Too Late

Then I hung up and blocked his number. The dial tone buzzed in his ear. Dan stood frozen in the restaurant hallway, his entire body cold. A draft from the window hit him, and he realized his back was drenched in sweat. … Back in my apartment, I tossed my phone aside and stared into the dark night outside my window. The tears came—finally. Not for him. For Ruby. My beautiful, brave little girl who never got to come home.

A Cold New Year

A Cold New Year

I stuffed the last piece of clothing into the suitcase and snapped it shut, then I looked around the apartment. Having lived here for five years, my presence was everywhere, from the paintings on the walls to the throw pillows on the couch and the plants on the balcony. Now, those very details felt like a cruel joke. I wheeled my suitcase toward the living room and paused to look at the calendar. New Year’s Day was tomorrow. A fresh start and a brand-new year. Without hesitation, I reached for my phone and reserved a seat on the first high-speed train heading to Cedar Hollow, my hometown.

Second Chances

Second Chances

Chapter 6 It was Thanksgiving morning. I struggled to get the Barbie house into my car as I headed over to Beths. I told the girls to come out for a surprise from Mr. Jason. I took out my cell phone and video taped their excitement. They screeched with joy, jumped up and down, and could not contain their excitement. I sent a quick text, Happy Thanksgiving, and then sent the video to Jason. He responded quickly, “Thank you for sending me this. Happy Thanksgiving to you too.”

“Not another one.” “It's what happens when we forget that there are people down here.” The guard without a name said. “If Sarene doesn't figure something out," he looked down at me again and grinned. “That will be you. Just think,” he waved a hand in front of him as if he was indicating to something that wasn't even there. “The days will melt into weeks and you won't be able to see freedom ever again. No food. No water or single drop of blood.”

The Forbidden Daffodil

The Forbidden Daffodil

New York City, United States "Roses are red, the sky is blue; Let me tell you, what a shit are you." "How are you, man? Hope you are enjoying your time seamlessly." A phone call made at a very late hour of the night put everyone on high alert. Every single person in the mansion got their asses on fire. Security was doubled at every corner of the property making it look like a customized high-security zone. A man pacing inside the main hall stopped on his track when he heard footsteps behind him.
