I chuckled King lee 'meows' in my arms, indicating food time. "And that's it on today's episode of Angels and Demons Corner with me April Denver. See you next week" I close the live on my laptop. "Hey kitty kitty, you want food right? I'll give you lots of it until you can't stomach a spoon. You like that right?" I rubbed his tummy as he laid on his back. Jordan... I wonder what he looks like now, pretty sure I won't recognize him. Is he married? To Macy? Or someone else? Is he cute, hot, sexy and what the hell am i thinking?

Inside, she was sitting alone at a table by a window, picking at a plate of food. The plate in front of her had steak—barely cooked, blood pooling under it. Normally that might’ve turned my stomach, but right now? Didn’t even register. The sight of her, so calm, so normal, made the anger boil over. I didn’t knock. I shoved the door open and marched in. “What’s your game, Nyx?” She didn’t look up. She speared a piece of meat with her fork. It was practically raw, bloody juice pooling on the white plate. “You look displeased,” she said, her voice flat. “For a man who just got a promotion, you’re terrible at gratitude.”

He says to the henchman. I breathe out a breath I've been holding for a while as the henchman drags me out. Once we're in the hallway, I angrily snatch my arm from the henchman's hand and walk away from him throwing countless curses at him. I climb down the staircase down my hall as I go to the kitchen. I need coffee or maybe cold water. Opening the fridge, I grab a bottle of cold water as I close the fridge almost startling myself to find Quill standing by the kitchen doorway eating a bag of chips. I breathe in and sit down on the island stool uncapping the water and throwing my head back to take a gulp.

The ruins had gone quiet. Not peaceful. Never peaceful. Quiet in the way a wounded animal became quiet when it realized something larger was hunting nearby. "Alright. Let's get started," I said. Everyone looked tense in the first game. Not a single person said a word for a long time. They seemed to be starving, so I had a few cans of food and some water brought in. At first, everyone kept glancing at Tristan and Victoria before doing anything. Eventually, they were so famished that they all began grabbing the cans and devouring them. "Are you full now? Remember this feeling. Only the winner gets to eat their fill and have a private room with everything they need," I said.

“The seal on her is broken. That’s what you’re looking at now. Your powers are now yours to control.” The way he phrases it is chilling. “I need food,” I mutter. “I’ve not eaten in days.” “Days?” Quill gives me a worried look. “But you were only gone—” “The cave I was in—Time moves quicker in there. Look, it’s complicated. Can I just get some bread and water? Please.” Lowenstein refuses to move, but Beth hurries inside the hut and brings out her bag, handing me some fresh fruit. I bite into it, and as the juice and meat of the fruit goes inside my stomach, I feel relief filling me.

But as I gestured to the meager food, my teammates rose one by one, finding the will to take another step forward into the darkness that awaited us. Wordlessly, we shuffled over and knelt by the plates, each picking up a spoon to reluctantly dig into the putrid meal. We gathered around the food trays, eating our meager breakfast in silence. Haley pushed the bowl away half-eaten, her tone filled with disgust. "This stew is revolting," she muttered, "How can they expect us to survive on this slop?" Her voice wavered slightly, betraying a growing sense of desperation beneath the anger.
