*AALIYAH* The three alphas are bare-chested, displaying their muscular muscles and curly chest hair as we keep drinking. The mood in the room is so overpowered by want and anxiety that it is palpable. Because of the alcohol, when I should be nervous, exhilaration shoots through me.

Energy returned to my body, and the hangover instantly faded. I stepped out the front door, only to find three cars pulling in our drive. “Aw, fuck.” John, Seth and Dean followed me out to see what had made me curse and added a few of their own. It was Nathan Brown and his Madison Range kin, along with a half dozen of my pack’s elders. I stood on the porch and waited. I was still their fucking alpha, even if they did want to commit mutiny. Seth, John and Dean flanked me.

He was sending message to his only friend, Adom. The most delectable, earth-shattering scent worked its way through Ash foggy brain as she took deep breaths. The scent of apples and jasmine and a beautiful base note of roses all accented by the most perfect scent of Alpha he had ever had the pleasure of smelling invaded hid lungs. Alpha, the scent of Alpha. His Alpha! "MY ALPHA" she barked out as the realisation hit him like one of those new steam trains. She sat bolt upright as his eyes sprang open, which was a mistake, not the biggest one he had made today, admittedly, but bad enough. He slumped back onto the sofa as a wave of dizziness overtook him.

Soon they stopped at a table that already had three people sitting at it. After sitting down at the table, Alex wrapped his arm around Ash once more. He then looked at his friends and smiled at them. As Ash looked at the three friends, he could sense that two of them were alphas and the other was a beta. The alphas were both male, and the beta was also male. It was making Ash feel uneasy, and he moved as close to Alex as he could. Alex could sense the boy's distress, so he pulled Ash's head towards his neck, letting the omega smell his scent. After a few minutes, Ash lifted his head, and when he did, he saw all of Alex's friends looking at him. Alex looked over at his friends too and growled

He kind of smelled like Dimitrios as well. “I want to thank you for meeting with us. I know that after what happened a few months ago you have zero trust in me or anything I say.” I told them “You are right when you say that our trust in you is zero, but I would like to hear what the three of you have to say.” the alpha replied. “First, I think introductions are in order.” Dimitrios pointed out. “I agree. That is Devon, he is the alpha, the giant is Kaleb, and he is the beta, this is Nash, and he is the gamma, the...” Loukas told us.

" In their direction, he turned. “How certain are we that the three of you are not the targets of a personal grudge?" Alpha Michael enquired. The three alphas in front of him didn't appeal to him. He thought they were too haughty and conceited. When interacting with them, there was something that made him feel raw.

“No pressure, then.” Corvin arched a brow. “You’re already under it. You just keep pretending you’re not.” Silence stretched between us, heavy with things I didn’t want named. “What happens,” I asked finally, “if the Alpha rejects the bond?” Corvin didn’t answer right away. He stared into his mug, jaw tightening. “Then the fire looks elsewhere,” he said. “And gods help anyone standing in its path.” My wolf snarled uneasily. I stood, heart pounding. “You’re saying she’s dangerous.”

“Good. Your priority is clear. Your sole responsibility is to Apollo’s safety and well-being. No distractions, no alliances that could jeopardize your focus, nothing at all, do you understand?” “Yes, Alpha.” “The compensation is generous, as I’m sure you’ve been told.” His voice dropped slightly. “But this role comes with great responsibility as I’m sure you’ve come to realize. To remain in this household and secure your position, you’ll need endorsements from three alphas within the Broken Moon.” My heart skipped a beat. “Three endorsements?” What for? I already had the job! He nodded. “They’ll assess your character and performance and determine if you’re going to remain here or leave.”
