I swallowed hard, refusing to turn around.
“Let go of me, Calvin.”

A bitter laugh escaped me. “A chance?” I repeated, finally meeting his gaze. His eyes were a storm—pleading, aching, drowning. “After everything, you think there’s still a chance for us?”
