Nothing in this hellish place made sense, and I felt a wave of helplessness rise within me. Just as I was about to give up, the door creaked open again. She reads it quickly and when she was finished reading, she said “I remember when this happened. Both were beloved witches in the magic community. Your mom was good friends with Monica. Monica had a simple protection power and Lee had the ability to control the snow. They never did find out who killed them, but we always suspected it was witch hunters.”
