Akin spins around, searching for him, but before he can react, Eirliwyn reappears on the other side of the room.
The vial slips from his hand as he vanishes again, and it shatters against the floor, the poison hissing as it dissolves into the air.
“No!” I scream, stumbling toward the shattered glass. “We need a sample of it! We need it for an antidote!”
River and Brook burst into the room, their faces grim as they assess the chaos unfolding around them. River moves quickly, trying to use his water magic to capture some of the poison, but it’s too late. The dark liquid is already dissipating, vanishing into the air like smoke.
