With every passing moment that we didn't catch sight of him, my gut knotted in fear.
And then finally we came to see them.
Far removed from the remainder of the war, Steven and Liam faced off one another. They were in human form now, their bodies battered, their movement slow but yet with willpower.
Steven had a deep, crimson slash on his chest, the wound oozing with blood. Liam stood upright, his leg drenched with blood, but otherwise unscathed, his face contorted in an evil grin.
I took a step forward, but before I could reach him, some of Liam's wolves emerged from the shadows, surrounding James and me. They growled, their eyes burning with sinister purpose.
