Their smell was suffocating and the noises they made was repulsive. A very faint and low whisper filtered into her ear as he rasped "Ghouls." She did not know much about the amortal world, but in the movies, she remembered them portraying ghouls as monstrous purifying humanoids that preyed on human flesh and corpses, spreading their virus through bites and scratches. The modern name for them was zombie. What were they doing here? She thought this planet was shunned by amortals and every other being? Soon after the ghouls passed, a few minutes later, she heard coherent voices speaking as they drew close.

Summer's POV She stared at the gruesome faces covered in blood, their mouths open wailing in agony. They moved towards her as she tried to back away. Behind them the devil himself smiled viciously enjoying the look of pure terror on her face. Try as she might she couldn't back any further as they closed in clawing at her while laughing. Waking with a jolt Summer attempted to catch her breath as her heart hammered in her chest. Her whole body shook from the overwhelming fear she was feeling from the same nightmare she had almost every night.

If I am in a mine shaft, an old well, or just a hole in the ground, no one will ever find me. I hear the sound again, "Crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch." This time it is even louder than it was before and it sounds strangely right above me. I hesitate to raise my hands for fear that I will connect with something that I don't necessarily want to and then I crouch down, hoping that whatever it is goes away before it finds me. Although, I already know better. I know what is haunting me and torturing my soul. She owns me and I know it. The minute she took my soul, pieces of my personality slowly started to disappear. Now I am just a shadow.

In the moonlight, a woman in a white lace dress was kneeling on the stone steps of the chapel, her face buried in her hands, her shoulders trembling. She had no feet. Below her dress, there was only a swirling black mist. "I see her." Lorenzo let out a low whistle. "Two years ago, Marco put her in the ground right there. Her ashes are buried under the rose bushes behind the chapel." I didn't stop, walking straight toward the chapel. Giovanni froze behind me but didn't dare to call out. As I reached the bottom of the steps, the female ghost's head snapped up. She lunged at me, her face a sickly pale green, her eye sockets empty black pits.

The middle-like canines that could easily pierce through the hardest flesh, tearing out muscles and arteries with ease. For a moment, she found herself back at that event that had haunted her for months, continued to hunt her even now. The cold rain. The metallic smell of blood. The searing pain of claws digging mercilessly into her flesh. A ghoul. “I… I need some air.” Maya’s voice was low and far too breathy even to her own ears. She wasn’t even sure either her sister or Anna heard her. She shoved through the crowd, desperate to make her way outside. And with each move she took, she swore those dark, predatory eyes followed her.

They are faster, stronger, and heal quicker and do not age because of blood magic. The most important thing about ghouls is that they have no souls and can only eat from humans or animals. This is why they are known as Blood eaters. Their skin is dark, and their eyes are gray with black teeth. Ghouls live in groups or alone. There is a rule that all ghouls must obey and follow. "Our main problem is the Epsilons we have to deal with, and first, we have to retrieve the body of True Alpha Alparic from Dr. Boris's research lab," Alpha Altan tells him of his plan.
