Allison’s sharp voice rang in my ears. “Eric, are you crazy? How dare you push him in front of everyone?” As she spoke, Allison hurried over to pull Aaron out of the fountain, but he floundered in the icy water for quite a while without getting up. It was winter, and the fountain water was freezing. Aaron sneezed several times, his carefully styled hair now soaked and disheveled. He looked utterly miserable. The sound pierces the sky. I feel it in my chest like it's calling something deep within me. But just when I think the worst is over, something shifts in the air- A chill crawls down my spine. Something darker is coming. Another danger still waits in the shadows.

Why the hell did I want it to be for me so badly? I am climbing down the stairs to get to my room when a strange chill suddenly runs down my spine, leaving me with an impending feeling of danger. I look around the quiet hallway and the staircase, but I find nothing. “Maybe it's just the cold.” I try to brush it off, but my heart doesn't stop racing and the feeling of being watched heightens. My next instinct is to run, so I do exactly that. I run all the way down the stairs, but just when I think I am safe, a man jumps out in front of me and I shriek.

Something is wrong. My stomach revolted violently and my bones felt a deep chill creep into it. The edges of the room went dark, my vision warped, my hands became clammy. Bluebridge turned into a murderous ghost town for one night, and Charlene loved it so much.

I whispered, feeling chills climbing up my spine and spreading across my body. The line clicked, and something, someone, answered on the other side.

“Well done, little witch. You’ve made your choice.” Within seconds, a coldness washed over me, seeping into my bones like icey water. An electric tingle prickled my skin, sending chills cascading down my spine. It felt as though the very air around me had thickened, charged with an energy that I couldn't comprehend.

I wonder if they used something to counteract my vision? I hear a shuffle behind me as I shiver runs up my spine. I’m being dramatic. Nothing is down here. Nothing is happening. I have clearly watched too many horror movies. Despite the stillness, the hibijibies are working their magic tonight as I start my climb, feeling the rough texture of the jagged rocks beneath my bare feet. Hmmm, I really wish I had shoes so I wouldn’t feel the rough ground beneath me.
