Audrey smiled awkwardly, even though her heart was shaking when she saw the ferocious faces of the wolves in front of her. "Your quarrel was too loud and could probably be heard by other ordinary people. Wouldn't it be very dangerous if your identities were revealed?" The dark gray wolf's voice was deep as it growled and stepped towards Audrey. He walked slowly around Audrey, trying to look for anything unusual or suspicious about the human in front of him. "You, a mere human, but why aren't you afraid?" He sniffed Audrey with his snout and snorted softly.

I stood before the mirror, trembling. “Come out!” I screamed. My voice cracked. “Come out, damn you!” But there was no answer. “You're supposed to be my wolf companion! My protector! How could you, how could you kill him?” My breath came in ragged sobs. “You monster… You coward! Show yourself!” My wolf didn’t speak. It was like she’d buried herself deep inside me, ashamed, or worse… indifferent. I collapsed to the floor, broken and breathless, tears searing down my cheeks. I curled into myself, praying that this was all a nightmare, that I’d wake up and find my father humming in the kitchen, that the arena had never happened, that my wolf had never emerged.

I replied to him but as soon as I spelled the name ‘Paul’, I gasped. “What happened? What is it?” Karien inquired as he saw me gasped all of sudden. I looked at him and asked, “Do you remember what was the shade of the wolf fur, and how big was he?” “He had slightly golden brown, white-colored mix fur and not so big as I saw a werewolf in movies. But it's simply not possible, what would a human male be doing attacking a wolf? Besides they have successfully kept themselves a secret from the human population for quite some time now, although there were the occasional people that were aware enough to keep everything running smoothly.
