A Little Book About Novels & Stories

Opening my phone, I type out the perfect text. -Hey! How are you?- Faith. I’m a literary genius, clearly. I groan, disappointed with my conversation starting skills as I wait for a text message to come through. Three very long and disappointing minutes pass and I decide reading makes time move much faster than staring at the device I’m basically begging to ding. I pick up my romance novel and immediately I’m sucked in. A dashing prince is racing against time to grab the magic tears of the moon so he can turn his beloved into her human form so they can finally be together.

Fair. Apparently being a baby wasn't a valid excuse. Reasonable honestly. Several minutes later she disappeared. God. Then returned carrying an alphabet book. Fair. A very large alphabet book. Reasonable. The kind usually intended for children who could sit upright. God. Not babies who occasionally sneezed at random. Fair. Then Lily sat directly in front of Peanut. Reasonable. Opened the book. God. And school began. Fair. "A." Reasonable. Peanut stared. God.

"It may be small, but that doesn't mean it won't feel like you've just walked into a young adult fiction book. Tai chuckled slightly. "I'll considered myself warned." *

“Suboptimal for intimate conversation. We will take future meals in the morning room or the annex. The data supports it.” Keila, emboldened by the strange new setting, looked at him. “Mr. Luther, what was your favorite room when you were little?” He paused, his fork halfway to his mouth. The question, from his past, in this formal room, seemed to disorient him. “The… the library. It was predictable. The books were in a fixed order. The silence was complete.” “Did you have a favorite book?” “The Way Things Work. By David Macaulay. It presented complex mechanical systems as logical, visual narratives.” He offered a rare, unprompted piece of personal data. “I found it… reassuring.”

This is the first bookstore I have been to, the books before were for learning, not stories. "Okay, how about telling me some books you have read and if you enjoyed them?" He looks at me waiting. "Yeah, see I haven't read stories. I read books that are to help you learn but never read purely for pleasure." "Okay, I have a few suggestions, follow me." He walks through and I follow, not missing Troy's eyes on me, while he has his phone in his hand. "Here, so, these are small books. Each one has short stories in, between one thousand and ten thousand words each story. Based on a specific genre." I watch as he picks up three and holds them out.

She didn't want to see him too anyway. 'Liar' Her thoughts echoed but she ignored them and got up. She might as well arrange his stuff. She kept his jacket and made to lock his wardrobe when she saw an old book tucked away at the lowest part of the wardrobe. What was that? She was overwhelmed by curiousity and picked it up. It was dusty. She cleaned it up and opened it. It was a photo album! There were lots of photos in it. She saw photos of Lance when he was a baby.

He sent other documents moments later and ordered for them to be submitted the next day. Trust me, I started working on them. During high school, I had read lots of books and amidst my busy schedule, I still joined a book club. We did more of proofreading and book reviews, pointing out errors, and giving good remarks. I thanked myself for doing that because it was helping entirely well. I found my work very interesting and I didn't want to leave it. I was so engrossed that I didn't hear the incessant knocking on my door. "Come in," I said, never taking my eyes off the computer screen.

Towards the back, I found more crystals and among them was the high-rank mana accumulator I was looking for. On my way to buy it, I noticed they had a small section of different books for sale. As I looked at what was for sale, I saw they were all to do with magic. Apart from one of them, one was a book on parenting, 'Babies first fire, a new parents guide for newborns. Is this a magic shop or a baby store? I'm glad Larry can't see what book I'm looking at; I just know he would tease me again if he knew...'

Luna Martha informed me, handing me a stack of paper which I put on my lap. The title read 'Rules for Dinners’ and it was one of the many books which she had given me to read and study. This book was twenty pages long and it had a load of words and images which told me what to wear, how to act and so forth. I really felt bad for the trees that this book came out of.
