Lovely Lies
“I knew you’d look good in a suit.”
I hadn’t realized she was down here, still thinking she was upstairs. She’d finished dressing before me and sat on the couch with her legs curled beneath her. She stood and made her way to me. Her dress should’ve been considered simple, but nothing about her was simple. Black, it stopped just below her knees, the sleeves reaching her elbows. The collar was oval-shaped, stretching out across her shoulders. She wore a silver necklace with a small diamond pendant, and teardrop-shaped diamond earrings adorned her ears. Her hair was curled in loose waves, the ends barely brushing her shoulders. “You don’t look too bad yourself, fucking beautiful.”
