“Mom, guess what? They have a slide in the playground!” she exclaimed, grabbing my hand.
“That’s great, sweetheart,” I said, forcing a smile.
Spencer crouched down to her level, a warm smile on his face. “Hi, Shaina. I’m Spencer.”
