I love that it flares out a little and that it cinches my waist. Ace is getting ready in his wardrobe. I brush my hair and tuck one side behind my ear; securing it behind my ear with a diamante hair-clip. Ace walks out of his wardrobe, wearing his favourite faux leather jacket, with a black shirt and dark jeans. I spin around. ‘Breathtaking,’ he says, and I blow him a kiss, grab his hand, and pull him downstairs, out the penthouse, and into his Lamborghini.

A playful spark lit his eyes. “Careful, Ashley,” Ace murmured. “If you keep touching me like that, Jax will lose his mind.” “Focus, Ace.” “I am focused,” he said quietly. “Just not always on what you expect.” That flutter at the base of her throat was becoming annoyingly familiar. She ignored it. Ashley looked at the drive. “What is on it?” “Time,” Ace said simply. “Bought with the last card I had left.”

Tell him it’s Tess. It’s a matter of life and death.” Knowing that the person on the other end was probably rolling his eyes at my words. Surprisingly, instead of the battle I was expecting, he spoke carefully, “As in The Tess? Tess Williams?” Like that, I felt like my stomach was dropping into my gut.

Alec flipped the last card over and it was a ten. Colt put two more cigarettes in and I matched him. “Alright, flip them over.” Alec said.
