It was like a group of flowers scattered freely in a field. A boutique caught Maia’s attention because of its large and colorful displays outside. It was a bookstore that made her very happy. She went inside and was amazed at the beauty and order of the whole area. If the outside is beautiful and colorful, the inside is even more elegant. It was as if the objects designed in the whole room came out of the book and it was as if she was in another dimension.

It’s similar to our room back at the penthouse. But this one has some changes, there’s no sign of me. It’s a typical men’s room but one that is organised, and I’m not talking about it being clean, but the décor and the books are all placed in an organised manner. I walk through the room, brushing my fingers along the black furniture. There are a few frames amongst his books. Mostly photographs of gorgeous sceneries. The first one is of a sunset on a beach, the second a sunny day in a forest, and the third- I stop as I pick it up, my heart racing as I scan the first two.

I probably looked ridiculous sitting there, staring at it like it was some kind of treasure.

Though I wasn’t really vain enough to say my body was fantastic in them, the quality of the photos themselves was undeniable. Arthur truly was an artist. There was this indescribable beauty to the photos, a softness that he somehow captured. I guess I could see now why he was so determined to get these pictures. He really was creating art. As I closed the book, the title shone in gilded letters in the dark. The Nine Muses: A Discussion. A beautiful book, but by no means did it sound interesting. I doubted anyone would bother to look in it.

I scrunched my nose with the familiar scent of the painted paved archaic walls where the big old portraits were hanged and displayed grandly and the greek Doric columns which exhibit minimalistic beauty in simplicity. The wooden smell coming from the old books mixed with the faint aroma of coffee that surrounds this marvelous room entices me every time and bewitches me to be indulged and unravel the implicit bareness of each wonderfully crafted book up until its tiniest details. I returned the book I brought to its rightful own place and picked a new one to read on the same shelf. I traced my fingers to the dusty old letters engraved on the hardbound cover. Mythology...

Maybe I am dreaming… yes, life has been so stressful recently and that is what is happening but that book keeps on grabbing my attention. Moving towards it, I see that the cover is practically made of crystal. It is so sparkly and I can’t resist touching it. As my hand drags along the book, I feel this longing towards it. As it were mine so I flip it open and a gust of wind hits me in the face and multiple images flashes in my mind.
