Aether Academy Novels & Stories

Elias’s POV The night pressed in close. Aurelion Academy was never truly quiet, but after curfew, it pretended to be. The corridors hummed faintly with power lines buried under steel. The light panels dimmed to half-strength. Beyond the dorms, the glass hallways overlooked a city that glittered cold and endless, a cage pretending to be a skyline. And still, I couldn’t breathe.

Carve out the heart of every member she loves. She's a werewolf, she can hear my thoughts. I hide nothing. “My name…” she whispers. Voice broken now. Small. “My name is Athena Denvers.” Athena. The name hits me strangely. Beautiful. Befitting. My chest tightens. A painful, inexplicable squeeze. Why? “I was Beta to Alpha Octavius.” Her voice cracks. “And we went to steal a healing vial from the health station that night.” There it is. She broke.

Maelik said. “I know.” “That alone is enough to make half the Dominion think the academy is on fire.” “It nearly was.” Maelik’s gaze slid toward him. “I heard.” Of course, he had. Nothing truly stayed contained at Blood Oath Academy, least of all a summoning gone wrong in the central ritual chamber. Theron kept his eyes on the grounds below. “Then you know I had other priorities.” Maelik was silent for a moment. Then, “The girl.” not a question. Theron’s jaw tightened. “Her name is Virelle.”

This power in me could have combusted at any point, killing everyone around me. "How can I control this power?" "By taking classes at Divine Academy, we teach young demigods with divine affinities how to master their powers. This school is a safe place to learn control and etiquette and help you find your place in this world." The Headmaster says, walking towards his desk, grabbing a file of papers, and handing them to me. "This pamphlet includes your room key, your class schedule, and your bank information through Divinity Credit Union."

Silence reigned in the room while everyone waited for his decision. After long moments that felt like forever, he sighed heavily. “Cordelia insists that I not hijack your young life if you are safe. I shall have some guards in plain clothes follow you discretely to make sure you are safe. What school do you attend, Ember.” “Wood Creek Academy, Your Highness.” Ember answered timidly.

She felt the pale light inside her respond, pulsing faintly with her heartbeat. Her breath caught. She shouldn’t have this. The word came unbidden, like a whisper carried on the mist. Aether. Her skin prickled. The name rang in her mind, heavy with warning. She had heard it only once before, buried in hushed whispers when she was a child. Aether—the element that no longer existed. A force erased from history because it was too dangerous, too uncontrollable. The stories had said that those who held it were cursed, destined to bring ruin. That was why they had been destroyed.

Sarah said with a smile. Runa hasn't had any time with Ace to herself since she was scared to leave Nicole and Ryan alone. When Ryan turns seventeen he'll no longer be living with the two but will be off to a private werewolf academy, Runa wasn't so sure but Ace wanted him to go. "You guys didn't have to." Runa giggled as she held her mate's hand, "But there's no way I'm denying this gracious offer, lets go!" Runa cheered as she left for their room. Ace chuckling and following behind her. "Sarah and Charlie are so nice for doing this." She said as they made it to their room and picked out nice clothing.

The ground trembled beneath Ava's boots as the group stepped into the tower's hollow heart. The stone door, once glowing with spectral energy, had gone still—waiting. Behind it lay the Nexus: the source of all ley magic, the convergence of every ley line on the continent, the heartbeat of Aether itself.

"Every leyline from the Western Barrens to the Southern Archipelagos is humming at the same frequency. The Great Academy is ready." Lyra smiled up at him, her thumbs tracing the hard, handsome contours of his jawline. "A place where the youth of our realm—shifters, solar channelers, sea-weavers, and elemental scholars—can learn to master their power together, without fear or hatred. It is the dream we fought so hard to build, Caelum."

I pull a hoodie over my head and follow her down the hall to the headmaster’s office with a heavy sigh. The Academy has four floors and his office is on the top which normally wouldn’t be a problem except I have to walk up two flights of stairs to get there instead of just flying a few meters. There is a large space in the center of each floor that allows angels to simply fly between them. I miss my wings terribly and my heart pangs at seeing the others fly around. I desperately try to look away but my gaze keeps moving back to the flying students as we walk up the stairs. I sigh when a wall blocks them from view and forces me to turn my attention to Julie in front of me.
