Fire and Water

Fire and Water

For a moment, nothing happened. But then, like the splitting of atoms, the intense energy held within released its horrifying destruction. Not even Oliver could have imagined the power which had just been allowed to run free. It was like a miniature nuclear explosion, the way wave after wave of pressure and fire swept through the buildings. At each contact, paper and wood were shredded to the point of atoms and the granite which had stood for centuries, shattered into insignificant shards, and swept up into the growing tide. The dark night was broken with exploding, brilliant light and the previously cold, crisp air was now a fiery hot, blazing furnace. Every bit of matter was consumed and d

Fire and Ice (Wilder Series #2)

Fire and Ice (Wilder Series #2)

- I just finished my homework only to suddenly remember that I have a project with the devil that is due in three days. I refuse to work with her out of school. Who knows what her intentions are. My phone begins to ring from my night table effectively cutting off my thoughts. I reach over and unplug the device before sliding the 'accept' button and waiting for the video chat to connect. As it connects I'm met with the face of Faith. "How did your talk with Aurelia go?" She asks, skipping the greetings "Nice to see you too, Faith" I say with a small laugh as I lean my back against my headboard

Caged by the Demon

Caged by the Demon

★★★ There was no vehicle on the road except the black car. It was the next morning after a chaotic night. After much effort, firefighters brought the fire under control. No one would have thought that there could even be a resort, as the place had become a huge burnt-out crater. The officers came, and they have a picture of the resort. Clearly, there was no resemblance between the picture and the place they were facing.

THE FIRE LORD

THE FIRE LORD

he asked again “no, and what rumors?” “Good, then you shouldn’t have any problems in the afternoon. I’ll be back to talk you through it if you perhaps fear being poked with needles” he left with that not waiting for me to speak. I don’t fear syringes, I scoffed and what rumors was he talking about. I remained standing there until I had the sound of his car leave the parking lots and our automatic gates get shut.

The Feral Alpha’s Rejected Luna

The Feral Alpha’s Rejected Luna

I look up at him. The fire. In the books, it said that after the massacre of the Amadeus Pack, a fire ignited in the heart of the territory, believed to have been ignited by the gods. That it burned for three days and three nights, cremating the remains of the pack. He turns to face Eleanor more fully, his voice low. “Did you set it?” Eleanor doesn’t answer at first. Her eyes lower. Her expression grows somber. Then she looks up and meets his eyes.

Once Upon An Alpha

Once Upon An Alpha

She turned to my shoe selection, grabbing my hiking boots and rummaging my drawers for socks. I let her help me put on my boots, reminiscing when I watched Harriet do the same thing to her when we were little. I saw her pupils shake gently; it seemed that she was letting someone know she convinced me to crawl out of my closet. “Come on.” Heather grabbed my wrist and pulled me out the door. A few months ago, she would have never taken charge; she would have waited for her sister or me. Something changed in her the day after the fire, but the fire changed all of us in different ways. How could it not?

This story is so good!! The author seems to put time and effort behind their characters!! And while peoples choices can be frustrating, baby beta looking at you, they all make sense with how the story is progressing and what’s happened! Couldn’t recommend this book enough!

I love this book. The author has created a wonderful world with well thought characters that I actually care about. The characters aren't perfect, they each have their own flaws and personalities. Each of them have grown in their own ways.

Of Frost and Fire

Of Frost and Fire

and for a last selfish wish I prayed for peacefulness of mind before the end struck. Opening my eyes wide, I saw nothing but fire. This was nonsense, nothing I'll ever come up with is going to save this night. Savoring the rich sip of fluid fire that was now devouring me all trough and trough, I started to understand the point it was making; it was not going to stop. Never.

The Fire That Chose Me

The Fire That Chose Me

Just like them. Finally, Evelynn stood. Her knees shook, but she stood anyway. “Then let’s stop running,” she said. “Let’s find out what I am.” Aiden looked at her, something like pride glinting in his tired eyes. “Alright, fire girl,” he murmured. “Let’s begin.” They turned away from the ruins, two figures moving deeper into the woods, where the path was uncertain, the danger was real… …but the fire had already chosen. And it would not be ignored.

Lost to Fire: Book Two

Lost to Fire: Book Two

I scream into the air. "Jessa!" Brixtius's voice is next to me. "Who are you talking to?" "You wouldn't believe me if I told you," I tell him. "Let's go!" Brixtius shouts while pulling me down the street. In the same direction as the crowd. We run for a few minutes, the ash making it hard to breathe. Such deadly snow! The next rumble, I realize it is the end. The pyroclastic cloud that kills all the citizens of Pompeii is coming.
