Akira yelped happily as Fang licked her face sloppily. I remained seated in the far corner of my mind and let Akira have her moment with Fang. She was brutally betrayed by her mate and no matter the differences between me and Xee were a big deal for me but as far as Akira was concerned, her only source of peace was Fang.

Akira quickly drew the other chair closer to her, her face broadened with a wide smile. "Oh, Xenra, you don't know how much I've missed you. How have you been? You're not looking any different, still the same, so beautiful and young," Akira's words tumbled out in a rush as she spoke. "I've missed you too, Akira. I'll take that as a compliment." She stated, causing my brows to twitch. A compliment? Xenra never needed anyone to tell her how beautiful she was. She was so full of pride that she needed no acknowledgement from anyone.

Akira began to pace, unblinking, as if decades of secrets were unraveling from her lips at last. “Kore was my twin,” she said bitterly. “My sister. My reflection in the flesh. We were born under the same moon, in the same breath… but never seen as equals.” The words poured like acid. “She had the touch,” she went on. “The visions, the strength, the beauty… and the favor. Our people worshipped her like she was the moon itself. And me?” Akira smiled bitterly, teeth clenched. “I was the mistake. The shadow that came with her light because I didn’t have the same gift as her.”

Kael's p.o.v My legs trudged through the mud as I walked my way to Akira's cottage. Though a doctor primarily, she has been gifted with certain powers by the moon goddess, one beyond what an average Northern pack Lycan could possess. Akira has a eyes that could foresee, sometimes into the future. A rare gift that has been evident from a young age of ten since I have made acquaintance of her. Freya was surprised as to how she was able to stay long. For someone who never felt comfortable about coming to the pack until she stepped her foot into it.
