There was no saving it. Angus came up beside her and nudged her gently. She realized that neither of them had eaten since breakfast. She stroked his head and made her way to the kitchen. There was a little left-over stew in the refrigerator that would do just fine. The old woman was simply too tired to bother to heat it up, so she divvied it between the two of them and ate it cold. When their bellies where content, the old woman and her dog made their way to the mattress on the floor and fell into a deep slumber.

It happened again! Eliza groaned with despair as she rolled onto her back and looked up into the early morning sky. Her nightmare was continued. She was naked in the field on the edge of the woods again.
