I purred. Her eyes lit up, "Caden you know just what makes me happy. I'll be quick," she says making her way toward the pack house and I couldn't help but smile. As I made my way out of the crowd to a quieter section near the edge of the ceremony grounds, my eyes caught what was unbelievable. I saw Tyrion, Alpha Bastian's son, on his knees behind a cluster of bushes. His head was bobbing rhythmically as he eagerly worked his mouth over the hard length of a boy from what looked like Firstfell pack.

The woman that looks like her age said when she approaches the elders. "It's fine Alice. We're glad that you made it." Señorita Laura dismisses with a kind smile. Anastasia tries to remember the another familiar name. She must have seen it somewhere. "Anyway, Lord Gilbert...Lady Doreen, I would like to introduce you, the detective who helps us in our son's case, Detective Alice Potter." Alice Potter. Then it finally sinks in. The party, the high-class people, familiar names, the plan, Detective Alice Potter. Now everything suddenly makes sense.

His presence filled the space before he even spoke. “Mrs. Blackthorn,” he said smoothly, his tone refined, charming even. “I hope I’m not intruding. I do intend to come on time when it is meetings like this.” I gestured for him to sit. “Not at all. You have me at a disadvantage, though. I don’t believe we’ve met. And given your scent, I can tell that you are not from here, Alpha.” He smiled, slow and confident, the kind of smile that didn’t quite reach the eyes. “Forgive me. Alpha Lorenzo D’Amaris. But I choose to go by Mr. D’Amaris when it is amongst humans.”

Her hair was lank and lusterless, falling around her like strings of rotting straw. A cauldron bubbled slowly in the corner, leaving off the most infernal and rancid vapors. Bits of frogs’ legs, bat wings and eyes of newt were scattered around the floor of the cave. Her lupine eyes, savage and cunning, only came to life when she muttered certain arcane words from a spell. They perched above her hawkish and hooked nose. From it sprang the most preposterous wart. It was at least the size of a saucer. It would have been funny if the scene wasn’t so Stoker-esque.

I mumbled to myself as I slowly pushed his door open. Julius looked as though he’d just finished putting on his shorts and was about to look for a t-shirt when I walked in. He didn’t look up at me, completely unfazed by my presence despite his half-naked appearance. I took the opportunity to take a good look, noticing the small flecks of scars littering his body, marring his otherwise smooth sun-kissed skin. “You’ve fought in battle?” I found myself asking. “I’m Alpha to one of the largest packs, that’s a given.” He responded as he put on a shirt, raising his eyebrow at me as if to say I’d just asked a stupid question.
