The man with the long sword ran to him as quickly as he could and was forcing his sword to stab the neck of the man in front of him. Lixien stepped up and took the sword he was resolute in holding using her power and she held it blade with her index finger and middle finger. The sword shook and the blade crumbled into pieces. Suddenly, in the middle of the commotion, the soldiers who didn’t sense her presence, kneeled and shouted. “May you live in longevity and may the god bless you, Your Majesty; the Empress.”

God, this was too easy. I had the dagger in my hand waiting for the right moment to press it into his skin when suddenly his hand gripped my wrist where the dagger was, disarming me and throwing me off his lap onto the floor. Shit. "You didn't think I would recognize Alessandro's new bitch?" He chuckled with my dagger still in his hand. "I knew who you were the second I saw you, Cassandra Knight" I needed Alessandro to come in now to save me I was completely fucked.

The group of princesses behind me made a squeal as the young man sauntered out of the crowd into the clearing in the middle of the hall. “Deucalion,” I whispered, looking at the selected prince. I couldn’t see most of him from where I stood, but he had beautiful black hair just like Valerian just longer, reaching almost his waist. He wore a red jacket over a pair of red trousers. He caught my stare, and I instinctively turned back to the announcer. He pulled a parchment from the second box and having already been caught staring at the handsome prince, the thought of having the dance with him was no longer appealing.

I huff in agreement, although I still feel silly. Alexander takes a wooden sword off the pile of practice weapons and swings it in the air, "This is my weapon of choice, the sword. It's very handy and good for close-range combat. I carry a short sword when I have to transform into my wolf form, but otherwise, I use a long sword." "So, are you good at them both?" I ask. He shrugs, "I would say I'm an alright swordsman." I grin, "You're trying not to brag. You're one of the best in the pack, aren't you?"

His face turned purple, his form losing strength before they stopped fighting altogether and dropped beside him lifelessly. My breath hitched as a sharp long blade pierced my back and came out from the front, it was a sword. Alexander's family sword. He pulled it out of me and I slowly faced him, staggering to the side. He again tried it plunge the sword into me and I kicked it out of his hand, it was easier because of how injured he was.

He looked down at Oliver's back. "Stop right there, Oliver Hartley!" Alexander yelled. His voice was completely dark and dangerous. "If you dare take one single step out that door... I will have my men break Scarlett's legs immediately!" Oliver froze completely. His hand stayed flat on the cold metal handle. His whole body went totally stiff. His blood turned to ice. He slowly turned his head. He looked back up the grand stairs. Alexander walked down the stairs. One slow, heavy step at a time. His expensive blue silk shirt was messy. Bright red blood still stained his lower lip and pale chin. He looked like a crazy, beautiful monster.

Steel sang melodies. The first Redcliff blade came down, and in that instant, the grand hall of Blackthorn exploded into violence. Rex shoved Isabella behind him just as a warrior lunged. Rex caught the attacker by the throat, lifting him clean off the ground before slamming him into the marble floor with bone-crushing force. The crack echoed like a gunshot. Blood sprayed across Rex’s boots. “Stay with Ash!” Rex roared. Ash was already pulling Isabella back, shielding her as wolves shifted mid-stride, bodies tearing and reforming as claws and fangs burst through skin. The air was thick with the copper tang of blood and the sharp musk of rage.

We crossed a courtyard dusted with fresh snow, the ground packed down by the heavy boots of warriors drilling in formation. And there— Near the center— I saw him. Alexandro. He was dressed in simple black armor, moving through the ranks of soldiers like a dark storm. He barked orders, demonstrating techniques with swift, brutal efficiency. I watched, transfixed, as he sparred with three wolves at once, his movements a blur of deadly grace. He moved like a creature of pure instinct, every step calculated, every strike purposeful. His soldiers fought hard to match him, but none could best him.

I smiled, gripping the handle of the knife in my hand. “ You were so special to him. Why?” I asked walking closer to him. “ I don’t know what you are talking about.” He stuttered as I kneeled down in front of him. “ See, I don’t believe you. Because before he took his last breath, he mentioned your real name.” I whispered “ Princess, what are you talking about??” Alex huffed. “ you are bluffing.” He said through staggered breathing as he trembled with fear

He pulled out a sword from his robes and tried to strike his enemies back. ‘‘Damn, I’m not good with swords, but I can’t shoot him cause we need that jerk alive,’’ Alexander thought to himself, wondering what to do, to take down the Alpha gangster. Meanwhile, his members were trying to fight against him, perfectly avoiding getting struck down by the sword. Alexander, tired of the sword games, ended up getting in the way and with a firm punch was able to knock down the gangster. The blade had pierced Alexander’s face, wounding his cheek slightly, but it was nothing serious.
