A cold chill swept over her and her temples throbbed. She carefully placed the ribbon down the interior binding of the pages and closed the book shut. The crystal didn’t look quite so out of place as it lay against the bottom of the pages. In fact, there was so much room between the size of the cover and the size of the pages that crystal tucked right up into the gap when she set the book on end. It was a perfect fit.

Alexis's eardrums were shattered! "Girl, you're crazy! My eardrums! But, what? I'm going to be an aunt? Congrats, girl!" Alexis screamed back, and they both burst into laughter like kids.

They were holding grocery baskets, but one seemed to have supplies in it instead of groceries. Dee smiled as soon as she saw Alex and said. “Good evening, Alex.” The female elder looked at her and asked. “Is that how you would talk to your Luna?” It was a question but it sounded as if she had made up her mind to think of Dee as someone disrespectful.
