“She doesn’t need this, Rhea. Go.”
Rhea’s smile sharpened, and she leaned against the table, too close, her presence heavy. “Protective, aren’t you?” Her eyes flicked to Mira’s wrist, then back to Alice. “Ask her about the tattoo, Alice. The one she keeps hidden.” She straightened, her gaze lingering on Mira, then walked away, her boots silent on the carpet.
Alice’s blood ran cold. The tattoo. She’d seen it—faint, under Mira’s sleeve, the same crescent moon with claws. Her heart pounded, doubt flooding in like a tide. “Mira,” she said, her voice trembling. “What’s she talking about?”
