Author's pov​ "Xavier!" Cici's shrill voice pierced the air as she rolled down the window of the white car they had just passed. Luna Dora sat beside her, her face unreadable, her posture composed and eerily still. Alpha Xavier heard the voice—there was no question about that. But his expression remained terrifyingly cold, his features locked in a mask of icy indifference. He didn't flinch, didn't even glance in Cici's direction. Beside him, Cecilia turned toward him, watching carefully.

A lie, she had always been good at telling them. The man laughed. “Well then, I’m glad you wore it.” He stretched out his arm, offering her his hand. “I’m Kail, the alpha king’s second son.” Xavier’s real brother…? Meanwhile, Isuzu walked over to their usual starting position and felt something weird going on as she started to feel whispers in her head, and as the wind got to her too, she took cover on a nearby log and closed her eyes.

The atmosphere was very tense and silent. Nobody spoke since the dinner had started. The soft beat of the rain against the roof of the house didn’t seem to help matters. The only sound was the sound of the spoon meeting the plates and the heavy breathing of the occupants of the table. Camila looked around the table, wandering what was wrong. She looked at her eldest brother Ace, his dark hair and eyes seemed than usual and he had a scowl on his face but he always had a scowl on his face, Diego sat beside him with short hair and blue eyes, he looked sad and annoyed and his twin Xavier shared the exact look. Matias just looked bored out of his mind and slightly worried.
