"My system is perfectly adapted to freezing temperatures, drop that bowl into my territory!" Mike ripped the dish clean out of my hand, throwing a wide grin toward the Alpha of Silvercrest Holdings. "It appears a dominant line leader handles every technical skill flawlessly. You'd easily capture the golden blade if the regional board established a trophy for deshelling nuts." From the edge of my vision, I tracked the immediate darkening of Ada Lube’s expression. I drew a deep breath of the room's circulating air and wrenched the dish straight back from Mike's grip.

I looked at Ryan with worried eyes. "Don't worry, trust me it will be fine." He assured me in a whisper and nodded at me once. I went after Alpha Shepherd into one of the rooms. "This is my office," he introduced me, "this will only take a minute." He wiped the blood off a dagger that was lying on his oak desk. "What are you going to do with that?" I frowned at the item in his hand. He sliced his palm and then reached for nine, "whoa," I protested, "is that sanitary?"

I ask him, why can't he let me leave, he would never see me again. "Leave! Leave!" Alpha Blade says the word with disgust, before he starts to laugh, a sarcastic laugh, one that lacked all humour, he looked back at me with his dark eyes, he looks like a feral wolf, he looks like he's a rogue, but he's still in charge, he still got some kind of power over the whole pack, he's not just a rogue, he's a rogue alpha.

Victoria tried to retreat but Kane was already there, moving through our defensive line like it did not exist. Albert stepped between Kane and me, weapon raised. "You are not taking her." Kane's human eye focused on Albert. Something flickered—recognition maybe, or the ghost of consciousness fighting programming. "Obstacle detected. Albert Morrison. Former asset. Now classified as enemy combatant. Elimination authorized." Kane's mechanical arm shifted. A blade emerged, six inches of carbon steel integrated into the prosthetic. Albert fired. Three shots, center mass. They hit Kane's armored chest and ricocheted harmlessly.

Then the guy swings it that Alfi’s arm disappears. “Wh... What happened?!” Koji asked surprised. “That sword... It’s not an ordinary sword. So he can manipulate wind that he can make a sword which is able to cut his opponent’s Iru circulation as if a wind slashing a leaf.” Cakra explained shocked. “It means, Alfi is cornered,” Kartika said worriedly. “The sword can cut anything made of Iru, in fact, he can abolish me. What a terrifying weapon.” Cakra added. “Wh, What happened?! My arm! What happened to my arm?!” Alfi screamed in panic.

She pushed at my skin worriedly, trying to smooth out my features. A sudden, genuine laugh burst from my chest—a sound so rare and unfamiliar that two nearby guards subtly glanced over in surprise. Before I could answer her, Aaron returned holding up his tablet, his expression darkening. "Alpha... Blizzard pack just made a move." The mere mention of that name caused my entire body to go rigid. My jaw clenched, a dark, dangerous growl vibrating deep in my throat. That Alpha of theirs clearly has a death wish, I thought, my blood running hot.

“My father will be sorry he missed you.” I watch the exchange piecing together who this Alpha is. He was from a northern pack, just outside of New Moon's reach, bordering the Kodiak kingdom's territory. “To answer your question, Queen Tala Moon. My name is Albert. The eldest of the Langley brothers.” His smile is contagious, bringing one of my own to spread across my face. “And what can we do for you, Alpha Albert?” I ask already feeling the warmth and hopeful vibe from his Aura.

And why was he so bothered about the sword? Maybe she was right, and he appeared to be allergic to something in the sword , could the sword really hurt him, an Alpha—the Alpha?
