I don't need your advice anymore, give it to someone who does." He moves past her but her words stop him, "Stabbed from behind and thrown away and left to die, that would be your fate. You would never be an Alpha without a Luna; you would never be the strongest without Arcadia." She laughs loudly before resuming

She turned her face into Dante’s palm for a second, drawing strength from his certainty, before looking back at the Echo and the endless mirrors. “Then the waiting is over,” Luna declared, her voice now ringing with a new, undeniable resonance. It was no longer the voice of a girl who questioned her place. It was the voice of a woman announcing her arrival. “I am Luna, daughter of Alarick, the Last Alpha King. The hidden heir. The Silver Wolf.” She let her gaze sweep over the visions of potential futures—the glorious and the terrible. “The prophecy gave me a choice. I choose to reign.”

I repeated, my tone quieter now, but heavier, more dangerous. I stepped closer, closing the distance between us. The air between us felt thick, tense, like it could snap at any second. I placed my hand on his shoulder, but he shoved it off almost immediately. “She is not just any subject,” I said firmly, my eyes locked onto his. “She is the Luna of this pack. Her lying in one of those beds is the same as the Alpha being hospitalized in his own public hospital.” He let out a light chuckle, the sound dry and dismissive, rubbing against my patience the wrong way.

I knew that scent. "You’re thinking again, Alaeric," Selene said, her voice smooth and confident. I sighed, turning to look at her. Selene was beautiful, everyone said so. She was a powerful she-wolf, a warrior’s daughter, and she had been trained since birth to be a Luna. On paper, she was perfect. Marrying her would bring peace to our borders and give my pack the stability it needed. "The Elders are asking for a date, Alaeric," she continued, stepping closer.

I order a simple meal of pancakes, sausage and fruit, while the Alpha already uses a portion of meat. “Hmmm, Mercedes. I spoke to Alpha Glary on the phone this morning and reported that you are here to speak to Saphira. He says you are the future Luna of Silver Moon and urged me to treat you with due respect”, he tells me meaningfully. Frowning, I look at Alpha Rainer, searching his face for an indication that he is joking. But he appears dead serious. Again I sigh deeply, I'm really tired of these persistent admirers. “You must have misunderstood. I am the Luna of Midnight Moon, my mate is Alpha Zane. Glary is just the Alpha's son of the pack to which I now temporarily belong”, I point out.
