“You’ve heard it too, haven’t you? What did it say? Does it tell you to do things? I don’t trust it. I mean, who would trust an ominous voice that can only speak through fire?”
A snarl ripped itself from his throat. He lunged, shoving me against the door hard enough to make me grunt.
“What are you trying to get at, mortal? Who the fuck do you think you are asking questions of me, a God?” Every word was coated in thick venom, oozing with poison that stabbed me right in the chest. “Why don’t you do us all a favor and break my curse? I’ll personally escort you back to your pathetic family.” He spat, “I don’t want you here, and once Azrael gets you in his bed, he won’t either.”
