The book store was right around the corner, enough to let Amy get few minutes of alone time. "what kind of book should I buy? These romantic novels make me feel extremely miserable about my life", she whispered. "Maybe I am on another planet unlike the characters in these books because I have never felt that way about any man before." Truly it was tiring and exhausting reading these books. Apparently, they make her expect things she would never get from Jack, thereby leaving her heart broken.

She raised her brows. “Seriously?” He narrowed his eyes at her. “Yes, seriously! Ah yous should check it out too, come I’ll read it out to you, it’s great!” She clapped her hands in excitement. “No thank you, you know I don’t read romance,” He shook his head. “But it’s a unique one,” She protested, “A popular mystery/thriller writer is thrown inside her own novel! How cool is that?” “Hmm?” he raised his brows. “Did it pick your interest?” She wiggled her brows. “Ah, the guy has the same name as you, by the way,” She added.

DAMON'S POV: ​I found one of her romance novels by complete accident in a small airport bookstore during a layover in Europe. Seeing her name printed in big bold letters on the shiny cover felt like getting kicked right in the stomach. Her photo was printed on the back page, looking as stunning and untouchable as ever. ​I bought every single copy the shop had. I read them all, cover to cover, while sitting alone in hotel rooms. I read her stories about brave heroes and about leading women who were strong and fierce.

I was taking a mental note in my mind that I should prepare his tea tomorrow. "Yes. I love to, that's why I have my Kindle actually. I read too many romance novels, people might think that I'm a book hoarder. With this, I'm saving on book space and money obviously. Though I missed flipping them and smelling the book pages." I grinned at him. I've met few locals today, Archie introduced me to them as they were browsing through his shop. I was at the back when I heard someone was coming into the store. Archie had gone home and would come back later to close the shop.

Until, having landed, she stood once again in a valley, shadowed by towering shelves of dusty spines and faded pages. “Not a reader?” he said after a brief pause. “Oh no, no, I am.” She raked her fingers through her hair. A nervous tick, the old guy creeping her out despite her having been there for less than ten minutes. “But it’s all Kindle. A lot easier that way.” She chuckled. He did not. “But those aren’t books,” he said. “Of course they are.” Raising her head, she caught his eye. Challenged him.

"Uhm...is it wrong for me to say I'm fascinated with this world and the people living in it so I...I wish to stay?" Oh dear... I was pretty good at it and at the urging of my then girlfriend Julie, had submitted a few to a story site named Erotic escapes where under the pen name hotforteacher I'd gotten some pretty good reviews. Most of my stories were about older women with guys my age and Miss Ross had been the inspiration for many of them. Most of my female leads had the same long dark hair, big brown eyes and perfect full lips as my favorite English teacher. Yes Miss Ross had been the nasty little cougar in my mind and in print many times over the last few months. Shit, I'd even joined her writing discussion group because it met every other Sunday at her house.

"Whatever happened to love each other first then... then doing the deed after. Is everyone after physical contact only these days? What about getting to know each other first? Chivalry? Romantic date?" I sighed and stopped spinning, facing my laptop and visiting a bookstore's site to see what books sell. Ah, of course, my book wouldn't be in the top 10, and I didn't hope so; what's staring back at me is the top 10 best-selling books for the week, where five of ten are Erotic Romance books. "And I thought my company wouldn't be like other companies who are after profit; I was wrong. Then again, business is business."
