Reagan I look down at the amulet that is glowing on my chest. I lift it up to see it better. “Well, I guess that works,” I say, smiling at my friend. I hold the amulet while I put the drink back down. The light dies away. When I pick it up again, it lights up. I lift the drink to my nose and sniff it. There’s the faintest hint of something metallic. “Reagan put it down,” Kieran, or more accurately Samson, growls.

She seemed to catch on to what I meant. "Lord Maddox, this here is my daughter Doris. She introduced. "Doris, you should know our Alpha, Maddox the great. Well now you're meeting him in person. Say hi to him." She walked up to me with her face dressed in a smile. "Good afternoon, Alpha Maddox," she said to me. Her smile beamed bright. Walking up, I see the video on the screen shaking and not sure if this is normal. My mom hands me our family knife, and we follow the directions. I then hand the knife back to my mom. The camera shakes and, at first, I think it is an earthquake when the loud booms begin. The Amory yells through the directions and has us walk up to the fire. In Latin, he sends a chant to the Norns, asking for a smooth shift and a long life for all. I then reach to the fire when I hear the scariest and loudest scream come from the screen. At that moment, the fire rises and encompasses the group of us. It blinds me as I fall into darkness. I see more than one figure in the fire and it is so hazy, nothing makes
