A tug somewhere deep within my chest soothed the ache, and the next breath I drew came easier. A flash of cobalt smouldered alongside my pain, my fear, covering it and calming it until it no longer hurt; a bright black hole winking a blazing star out of existence. “Perhaps the other vamps cleared it up,” Paps said, leaning against the counter. “If they knew of Alice’s plans,” Dad hummed, taking a seat at the kitchen table. I passed the blood in her mouth and waited for her to wake. I ended up sleeping with her in my arms. In the morning I watched her sleeping form. I am reminded of the day we first met. She starts moving in my arms. I look at her as she opened her eyes. They were of the same brown colour as before. I am glad she remained the same Lara I have got used to only that she is now a vampire and she ages slowly compared to before. "Hey did you do it?" She asks as she looked into my eyes. Do what... His demeanor and the way he's irritated with the natural sunlight tells me all I need to know, he's a demon and he's here to kill me.

Under nightfall we embarked on our way to the vampire realm. The plan is to meet the witch queen and her army at The Crossroads. "I'm on my way, from misery to happiness today" Arlo starts singing and the wolves chime in "Ah ha, ah ha, ah ha, ah ha" Arlo's in his element as the wolves seem to love a sing song. Great!

Large fangs came out in the place of her normal teeth, and her face took on the shape of a ferocious animal. Veins popped out on her face, and her pure brown eyes turned a shade of black worse than anything he had ever seen before. She growled, emitting the most terrifying sound he had ever heard.

As Harlee and I turned and looked at each other, Amar leaped from the bed, his body changing from a sleek and elegant weimaraner to a large, gray wolf as he took slow steps toward the bedroom door. As I opened my mouth to ask what was wrong, Darlene Harris appeared on the other side of the opened bedroom doorway, pointing a handgun in our direction. I regretted the fact that Harlee and I decided not only to leave the bedroom door open to hear anyone who might be looking for us, but also to be dumb enough to put our own handguns on the nightstand.
