American Pie: Reunion Novels & Stories

Aaron couldn’t be that coldhearted toward me…could he? “What’s the last thing you remember?” the woman asked. I tried to think back. Thinking hurt. How was that even possible? As I stared at him it all came flooding back. I experienced it all over again; the pain, the humiliation, the fear. “I was attacked…I know you.” A single brow lifted as he watched me and I shivered. That gaze, those eyes. Dark and predatory. Ridiculously intense. I felt like any moment now he would pounce, but that made no sense. His arms hung loose at his sides, shoulders broad and legs spread shoulder width apart. His stance was wholly nonthreatening, yet his aura screamed danger. I didn’t exactly know him, but I saw

was rated above 165. Their twentieth reunion had been a huge disappointment. Personalities had been altered by divorce, death and distance. The attendees treated her almost as badly as they had in high school. Almost no one had recognized her, and those that did were not at all diplomatic in their harsh criticisms and negative comments on her appearance. She didn't expect anything to have changed much in ten years.

I used to rarely attend these kinds of reunions, but now that I had nothing else to do all day, going once wouldn't hurt, especially since I needed to be there for Annelie, being pregnant and all. The reunion was lively, albeit marred by one female classmate who had a bit too much to drink. She latched onto me, rambling about her failed marriage, and even pulled out her divorce papers from her purse, waving them around. I didn't pay much attention to her tragic tale, instead, I stared straight at the divorce papers, comparing them to mine. I took them over and examined them closely, "Is this how they're supposed to look?" Annelie beside me tapped my forehead, "Are you going senile from being

a short, bespectacled man chimed in, his voice dripping with mockery. I stepped right up to him, locking eyes with an icy stare. He flinched, stumbling back a few steps as if I’d struck him. "What? You gonna hit me just because I said the truth?" "Hit you? Do you think you’re worth it?" "You… you…!" His fists clenched in anger, his face turning red. Someone nearby, sensing the tension, quickly tried to defuse the situation. "Alright, alright, let’s not ruin the night. We’re all here for Professor Warren’s reunion. Let’s keep it civil."

I pinched my earlobe, which felt strangely warm for no reason. "Hello there, I'm Megan's friend. We are at Cooper's Barbecue. Would you be able to come over and pick her up?" Given Megan's current condition, it was going to be a struggle to get her home today. After all, I had quite a bit to drink too. It would obviously be a lot more convenient if someone could come and pick her up. Before the man on the phone could even respond, Megan, who had passed out face-down on the table, "came back to life" all of a sudden.

My voice was calm and steady. There was a pause on the other end. He clearly had not expected that reaction. I continued as I softened my voice and pretended to give in, “I got promoted. I’ll receive a $1 million dividend bonus after the New Year. “Let’s get along from now on, okay?” He went quiet for a few seconds. I could hear him whispering to someone beside him. After a moment, he said, “Fine. Come home tomorrow night. We’ll settle everything.” After I hung up, Jane looked at me in worry.

"Dylan was nice enough to get you out of the rain, and you can't even thank him? So ungrateful." "Seriously. Look at that delivery jacket. Those grease stains are basically baked in. And she reeks like old fryer oil." "Good thing this room's huge. Anywhere smaller, that smell would kill us." I looked at them, totally calm. The guy talking used to be one of our school's student athletes. Back then, he'd practically begged to copy my homework. Now he stared at me like I was gross. "I washed this jacket yesterday." I delivered food to collect real market data for Evermont Resources.

Monica replied as she spooned Anton some rice. "Okay," said Anton. "To be honest, I'm still traumatized by being cheated on. Or when you say you want to get together with your old friends, about school reunions, bukber and the like, you can't come anymore," Monica replied with a sharp look. "I understand, for your sake, I won't go to the invitation of reunion, bukber, or anything like that with my old friends," said Anton. Monica smiled but even though she could smile beautifully in front of Anton her heart could not lie. She was still traumatized and could not fully trust Anton. There is a saying that if a man cheats once, he will do it again.

"It's fine, they won't smell it. We'll wash when we get back. We don't need any of this old stuff; I'll buy you new things." And just like that, after a wild night tangled in the moonlight, disheveled and covered in the marks of our passion, we walked out of his cabin. Lucas lifted me into the same pickup truck from last night, thoughtfully buckled my seatbelt, and then drove us away, smooth and fast. As I got in, I saw him rummage through my abandoned leather pouch, looking for something. Before long, he reminded me: "Ella, contact your pack. Tell them the mating ceremony with the Silver-pine Pack is canceled. Save them the trouble of showing up for nothing and losing face in front of other

I looked up and froze for a moment—the waiter seemed familiar. "This dinner isn't just about finalizing the deal, Audrey. It's also to make up for what happened before," Faye said. She fumbled with the wine as she poured me a glass and set it aside to breathe, her eyes wary. "You've had too much to drink tonight, Audrey. I'll take this one for you," said Mindy Lynskey, one of my old teammates. She suddenly stood up and reached for the glass in Faye's hand, but Faye smoothly dodged her.
